Submit your original, unpublished papers on advances in modeling, planning, operation, or decision-making under uncertainty. PMAPS 2026 is hosted by the University of Utah and WECC, and technically sponsored by IEEE Power & Energy Society. The Probabilistic Methods Applied to Power System (PMAPS) theme is "Towards Reliable Power Grids in the Age of AI and Large Loads." And the dates are September 21–24 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

ERO Happenings

Large Loads Working Group White Paper Published New

The Large Loads Working Group (LLWG) released its second white paper, Assessment of Gaps in Existing Practices, Requirements, and Reliability Standards for Emerging Large Loads.


NERC will host an industry webinar March 16, noon–1 p.m. EDT, to provide an overview of the paper's findings and recommendations.

Critical Infrastructure Protection Evidence Request Tool Webinar New

NERC will host an interactive webinar showcasing the newest release of the Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) Evidence Request Tool (ERT), Version 10, March 23, 1–2 p.m. EDT.


Elliot Weishaar, MRO CIP compliance engineer, will review the latest release of the CIP ERT, detail the most recent changes and improvements, and take questions from attendees with other representatives from the ERO Enterprise.

Industry Webinar: Blackstart Resource Availability and Readiness

NERC will hold two industry webinars to provide an overview of the report on blackstart resource availability and readiness in the Eastern and Western interconnections. The webinars will be held on:


  • March 19, noon2 p.m. EDT
  • April 8, noon2 p.m. EDT


The webinars will present an overview of the study report and highlight key findings and recommendations for next steps. Both webinars will cover the same topics.

NERC Incident Review Posted

NERC published a new incident review examining developing risks and challenges for load pocket operations. This review offers utilities several perspectives to consider.

GridEx VIII Lessons Learned Report

The GridEx VIII Lessons Learned Report is available on NERC's website. The report is a review and analysis of NERC and the Electricity Information Sharing and Analysis Center’s (E-ISAC) GridEx VIII, that took place in November 2025.


The report provides recommendations to inform electric industry participants, critical infrastructure sector partners, and government partners of measures that they can take to improve resilience and response to cybersecurity and physical security events that may affect the North American electric grid.

NERC MSPP March 2026 Update

At its February meeting, the NERC board of trustees accepted the Modernization of Standards Processes and Procedures Task Force's (MSPPTF)  Recommendations for Transforming the Reliability Standard Development Framework.


The board also approved a resolution directing NERC management, with advisory support from the MSPPTF, to begin implementing the recommendations. The March update provides a timeline for those actions.
