Board of Directors and MAC Elections

Board of Directors Election

Each year, WECC holds board of directors elections to fill seats for directors whose terms are expiring or to fill vacant seats. This year, there are two director terms expiring and one incumbent director. Following an extensive search, the WECC nominating committee made a unanimous recommendation to re-nominate incumbent director, Felicia Marcus, and nominate candidates, Joseph Brannan and Ronald Roberts. Ballots for the three open seats were sent to designated member representatives on August 3, and the deadline to cast votes is Friday, August 28, at 3 p.m. MDT.

Elections for MAC Member Class Representatives

On August 3, election ballots for Member Advisory Committee (MAC) Member Class Representatives were sent to designated member representatives. The deadline to vote is Friday, August 28.

Reliability and Security Indicator Dashboard Updated for Q1 2026

We have updated our Reliability and Security Indicator Dashboard to reflect Q1 2026. The dashboard comprises six indicators that show the evolving reliability and security risks within the Western Interconnection's bulk power system (BPS).

Each indicator is grounded in comprehensive datasets and analyses, with detailed descriptions provided for transparency and understanding.

Stay up to date on wildfire risks by reviewing our Weekly Wildfire Update. This report provides a high-level summary of potential threats to the bulk power system due to current wildfires and conditions.

^New PRC-029-1 Outreach

August 26, 10–11 a.m., MDT

This informational webinar will provide critical information for NERC Registered Entities that are implementing PRC-029-1 by highlighting the ERO Enterprise CMEP Practice Guide: PRC-029-1 Enforcement Discretion. 

This session will review the approach, including phased implementation, Enforcement Discretion, and how WECC will be managing the associated processes. We will provide details of how, what, and when to submit. CMEP personnel who are responsible for submitting PRC-029-1 information to WECC should attend. We look forward to providing current and relevant information for entities to be successful when the standard goes into effect on October 1.

^New Reliability in the West — Path Ratings in the Western Interconnection

Join us for the next session of the Reliability in the West Discussion Series, which will focus on the future of the Path Rating Process and transfer capability methods in the Western Interconnection. This session provides a high-level overview for stakeholders, running in parallel with our deeper technical initiatives. Our presentation and panel will explore foundational history, recent impacts, and flow-based methodology concepts. Industry experts will also discuss the future, sharing needs, opportunities, and reviews to safeguard BPS reliability amid an evolving power system.
