WED releases Midwest Future Forum on Drone Development in North Dakota
Williston Economic Development - We have released the second Midwest Future Forum on YouTube on Friday, December 10. The 28-minute segment features host and moderator Shawn Wenko, WED executive director, talking with four experts in North Dakota's drone industry. Mayor Klug featured on FOX Business News
FOX Business News - "For the last, let's say, 12, 14 years, we've been in catch-up mode around here – a lot," Williston Mayor Howard Klug told FOX Business. "What do you do with all the sewage when you double the population and you don't have any place to put it?" Economy at a Glance shows Positive Trends
Williston Economic Development - The new Economy at a Glance is now available. Overall home sales and enplanements continue to outpace 2020 while single family housing permits are lagging a bit behind last year's numbers. School enrollment remains steady while births are down in 2021 compared to 2020. Click here for the full report.

North Dakota Commerce, RoleCall partner for
Talent Attraction Project
News Release - The North Dakota Department of Commerce recently completed a tour across North Dakota with representatives from RoleCall, a talent consultation company, to kick off a statewide talent attraction project. Commerce partnered with RoleCall to address the state’s workforce needs by assisting in making North Dakota a national leader in talent attraction innovation and action. The partnership and project strategy are an anomaly among the many other ways states have approached talent attraction. Read More

WBSD #7 approves $3.5 Million for CTE Project
KE YZ Radio - The Board for Williston Basin School District 7 made a sizable investment at its meeting November 23. The board voted unanimously to fund $3.5 million to fulfill a requirement for in-kind donations to receive $10 million in the form of a state grant. The grant, which is slated for approval in March of 2022, will be a significant lynchpin for the completion of the district’s new $20 million Career and Technical Education project. Read More

Mini Match Monday December 6
Williston Economic Development - We will take a behind the scenes look at Mattress by Appointment on Mini Match Monday on Monday, December 6. John and Samantha Mendis opened the business earlier in in 2021. They got the idea from friends who own a Mattress by Appointment in Rapid City, South Dakota. We'll learn how the couple utilized the Williston STAR Fund Mini Match program to launch their business in a warehouse behind the former Budget Home Furnishings location.

North Dakota Military and Virtual Job Fair December 8
News Release - Job Service North Dakota is hosting a statewide virtual job fair for current Military members, Veterans and their families on Wednesday, December 8th from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. A virtual job fair works similar to an in person job fair where job seekers move from booth to booth to learn about career opportunities with the businesses present. Minnow Tank Competition April 12 in Sidney
News Release - Great Northern Development Corporation, Small Business Development Center is hosting a business plan competition in conjunction with the MDT Small Business Enterprise Program throughout a seven-county region in Northeastern Montana. The goal of this event is to attract new entrepreneurs and support existing businesses by uniting communities in a common goal of economic development.
