WED partners with The Creative Treatment
for New Podcasts, Cryptocurrency Discussion

Williston Economic Development (WED) and The Creative Treatment are working on the fourth season of WED's Williston Works Podcast. Executive Director Shawn Wenko interviewed area entrepreneurs on July 6 and 7 at the Williston Brewing Company. The podcasts will be released later this year. Meanwhile, Wenko moderated a panel discussion with four experts in cryptocurrency. The Creative Treatment will edit and release the forum in 2021.
WED nears Goal in 21 in 2021 Campaign

Williston Economic Development (WED) and the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) are nearing the completion of their “21 in 2021” challenge. The “21 in 2021” campaign seeks to provide STAR Fund support for 21 unique projects in 2021. So far, “21 in 2021” has already met its new business goal, while it’s just shy of attaining the goals set in the expansion and quality of life categories. Read More
Clark appointed New Williston Fire Chief

News Release - The City of Williston is pleased to announce Matt Clark, former Williston Fire Department (WFD) Division Chief of Operations, as WFD’s newest Fire Chief. Chief Clark was appointed to the role of Fire Chief by the City of Williston Board of City Commissioners on June 22 and was formally introduced at the City Commission meeting on July 13. Read More
Ribbon Cutting held at NDSU WREC's
New Seed Conditioning Facility

The Williston Area Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting ceremony for the NDSU Williston Research Extension Center's new seed cleaning facility on July 14. The ceremony featured comments from Lieutenant Governor Brent Sanford, Williston Mayor Howard Klug and other officials and dignitaries. The ribbon cutting was followed by a free steak and lamb dinner for attendees.
Hair Society Institute celebrates Ribbon Cutting

A ribbon cutting was held on July 9 to celebrate the grand opening of the Hair Society Institute in Downtown Williston. HSI offers courses in cosmetology, nail technology, esthetics and more. Email HSI at hairsocietyinstitute@gmail.com.
Ribbon Cutting held at Pick & Patch
and Candy Crate in Williston

A ribbon cutting ceremony was held to celebrate the relocation and grand reopening of Pick & Patch and Candy Crate on July 8 in Williston. The store is located in the Rootz Eatery building at 910 42nd Street West. The boutique has a wide variety of candies and gift options.
The Highlands at Hawkeye Village celebrates
Ribbon Cutting

A ribbon cutting was held at The Highlands at Hawkeye Village on July 12 in Williston. The development will feature new single family homes near Menard's in Williston.
Longtime Williston Doctor retires

Roundup - Dr. Salem Shahin, Williston urologist, was honored with a surprise retirement party on July 1. He celebrated 40 years of service to this area. Dr. Jerome Kessler, representing Sidney Health Center, presented Dr. Shahin a plaque (pictured above) in recognition of the decades of service he has provided to Eastern Montana. Read More
Job Fair planned September 16 in Williston

News Release - The Northwest North Dakota Semi-Annual Job Fair will be held September 16 from 2-6 p.m. at The Well on the Williston State College campus. Read More
