I’d like to take a moment to thank everyone who joined us last week in Arlington, VA for our 2019 year-end conference. It is incredible to witness our industry join forces at these events, focusing on what we need to accomplish as a collaborative team. Health IT plays such a critical role in the future of interoperability. Our leadership, committees and Workgroups put tireless effort, on behalf of our members, into making sure our conferences provide the right mix of topics, networking events and dialogue with our government leaders. From the informational and timely sessions led by our excellent speakers, to announcing our 2020 Board of Directors and the well-deserving recipients of our 2019 Awards, this WEDI conference was another premier event for the books.

With the interoperability and health data landscape continuously evolving, there’s not much time to take a break. I’m looking forward to continuing these important discussions with you all at the WEDI Conference early next year in San Diego. Mark your calendars now for May 4-7 and keep an eye out for details on the event that will emerge in the coming weeks.

I’d like to give a special thank you to our Workgroups, who have put in extensive work this year to bring us all timely webinars, whitepapers and more. From all of us at WEDI, we appreciate your leadership and applaud your dedication to the industry. If you’d like to increase your involvement next year, please contact us. There are many incredible Workgroups and Subworkgroups with distinct areas of focus that would welcome your views.

It has been a great year and we are already ramping up efforts to make 2020 a year of clear vision, focus and spectacular for membership. I wish you all a safe and happy holiday season! See you next year!

Join eHealth Initiative and WEDI on February 4, 2020 in Washington, D.C. for a day of learning and networking as we hear from government officials and industry leaders about current initiatives supporting SDOH. Topics to be discussed include:

  • How does the use of SDOH help to improve care while lowering costs?
  • How is the data exchanged between public health, other agencies, and providers?
  • What are the current and future initiatives of federal agencies and Capitol Hill?
  • How the health care industry can work together to improve patient outcomes?
2019 has been a busy year for our Workgroups and Subworkgroups. We could not have accomplished as much as we have without the dedicated efforts of our multi-stakeholder member volunteers. Make sure to check out our 2019 Workgroup Report that showcases all of the educational content put out this year.
