WHO’S IN CONTROL?
I have often heard people say that “God is in control.” Yes, God has the final word, but did you know that Jesus, through his shed blood, burial, and resurrection, has given us authority? It says in Luke 9:1, “Then he called his twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases.” Jesus gave them limited authority at that time, but after the resurrection and at Pentecost, that authority was given to the Church.
We have this authority through the name of Jesus. Like an ambassador to a foreign country that could sign and make declarations on behalf of the country that sent him, we also are ambassadors for Jesus, using his name in authority.
So, who is in control? God has put us in control by using the name of Jesus. We are to share his love with power. We are to witness with power. We are to drive out demons with his power. We are to lay hands on the sick in his name and they will recover with this power and authority.
We are his body, acting as His ambassadors. If we do not use this power, it isn’t His fault that things don’t happen. We are to be controlled by the Holy Spirit, not our flesh that will fail us. Holy Spirit will guide us into all truth. We make the choice, to be controlled by God using the name of Jesus, or to wait on God to do something that He has already provided.
Right now, in the world the enemy has taken control of finances, food, governments, medicine, health care, and just about everything else. Why has this happened? It has happened because the body of Christ has not walked in its authority, advancing the kingdom, and taking back what Satan has stolen.
I, for one, am determined to do everything I can to expose that darkness with the light of Jesus. I am determined to win the lost. I am determined to walk in the authority that God has already given me. I am determined to be what He has called me to be.
What about you?
