WEE School Parents,
Out of an abundance of caution and in the best interest of our students, families, and staff we have made the decision to cancel our 2020 Summer MMO program.
We have come to this decision after prayerful consideration of many factors, including:
- Upon following Governor Cooper’s decision that all North Carolina schools close for the remainder of the school year, our staff has been limited to working an abbreviated schedule which has prohibited us from being able to prepare for MMO.
- We serve a young population which does not allow for safe and adequate social distancing.
- Once our staff is able to safely return to Campus, we will need that time to prepare for the 2020-2021 WEE School year and all of the adjustments that will be required to best serve our families, including:
- Education and staff training on new health protocols and best practices.
- Equipping classrooms with necessary items to ensure a safe and healthy environment for our students and staff.
- Communication to our families of what the 2020-2021 WEE School year will look like.
In short, we believe that rather than providing a rushed summer program experience that is potentially ill prepared in knowledge and readiness of new health standards that have not been outlined yet, we need to focus our efforts collectively on planning and preparing for a successful 2020-2021 school year.
Our team is anxious to get to work planning and preparing for the Fall. There will be a learning curve as we strive to provide the same standard of excellence in serving our families and we thank you for your support in this process. We wish all our families a blessed summer and look forward with great anticipation to seeing everyone in the Fall!
