LEADERSHIP UPDATE
Last Sunday, Carolyn King-Layden, Trustee liaison to the Leadership Council, updated the congregation on things going on in Children’s Ministry. There was an electronic survey sent out to members concerning Sunday school, worship times and programs. Three Task Force teams continue to meet and are revisiting the feedback that was received. They also decided to have a 3 month trial-period for new Sunday School curriculum. This allows everyone to get a sense of what is or not working in the curriculum and allow for changes; while not being disruptive to the children’s learning and understanding of God and the Bible. The children are still in need of adult helpers on Sunday mornings. Please consider offering a few Sundays of your year, helping as a substitute or even a rotating teacher. It is a wonderful opportunity to get involved in our church family, see what enthusiastic young Christians we have and you might even learn something new yourself!

A FOOD PANTRY CHRISTMAS
On the heels of the big THANK YOU to everyone who donated so our recipients could have a blessed Thanksgiving, we’re doing it again for Christmas! Please consider donating some festive trimmings to make holiday meals special. We are still accepting turkeys or hams too (no certificates). Holiday goodies will be distributed December 18 & 19. Thank you for your continued support of this important ministry!
THE TOY TRAIN HAS ARRIVED!
This year we are changing things up a bit with what we are going to fill the Train with. We are collecting WRAPPED & LABELED toys and games for children (ages 3 to 13 years old) and we have the added option of supplying (unwrapped) mittens, gloves, hoodies and coats for all ages and warm hoodies for men. We will take the gifts to the Chosen 300 ministry in Pottstown for Christmas to spread joy to those in need. The coats, hoodies, gloves, hats, etc. will be distributed during our next evening of service on December 28.
CHOSEN 300 IS SATURDAY, DECEMBER 28
Every other month, Wayne Church provides a home-cooked meal for the homeless at Chosen 300’s Pottstown location. We have many opportunities for involvement: shopping, cooking, scooping and running so click the button below and sign up! Questions? Email Kimm Ebersole & Agnes Fischer below. Thanks for supporting this important ministry!
WORSHIP THROUGH SERVICE FOOD SORTING DAY!
Sunday, December 29, 2019 @ 9:15AM! If you are unable to join us, you can still help! You can drop off non-perishable goods at the church, spread the word on social media, or make a monetary donation online by clicking below. Help us to bless and serve the needy through this vital ministry!

FOOD PANTRY THANKSGIVING THANK YOUS
A big THANK YOU to everyone who donated turkeys, certificates and trimmings for our recipients. Our Food Pantry distributed 35 turkeys along with everything needed for a special meal. Special thanks to Radnor Elementary and Agnes Irwin who held food drives for us & Save A Lot for turkeys and pre-made trimming bags. Our food pantry helped 35 families have a blessed Thanksgiving and it wouldn’t have happened without your support.

Here are some Thank You notes received this week:
“With Thanks and Appreciation… Just a note to say Thank you for your kindness. My divorce is the beginning of a different journey for me. As I am getting over this hump and trusting God more…Your help is appreciated. Thank you for the salmon and cleaning supplies.”

“Thank you so much for the turkey, pie and fixings for Thanksgiving. Thank you for your generosity all year long too! I cannot express my gratitude for your kindness and generosity! I am eternally grateful!”

“A special Thank you to you and all the other folks who labor so hard in the food ministry. It has been a real blessing this past year. Really more than you could realize! We had a really great Thanksgiving and invited over folks who had no place to go. God Bless you all so much.”
WAYNE KIDS - MISSION PROJECT
This year’s Children’s Christmas Mission Project is Blessing Jars.   Each $5 Mason Jar contains 52 colored strips of paper with blessings; 26 Scriptures and 26 quotes.   They will be sold after 10:30 am worship in the Narthex.   Proceeds will benefit orphaned children in Sierra Leone.   Contact Sue Scott or Christine Garton for more info.
SPECIAL EBAY SALESPERSON NEEDED FOR RUMMAGE!
A few times each year a generous donor gives us something small and lightweight but of high monetary value, such as costly jewelry or a camera lens.   Good stewardship dictates that we sell these items away from Rummage to obtain fair value.   We could sell locally, but we can get much better prices if we market to a national audience via eBay or similar.   Therefore, we are looking for someone who has time and expertise (or is willing to obtain that expertise) to sell items like this on eBay for the church.   This effort would translate to, most likely, less than 10 hrs. per year; it all depends on what we receive.   All the work can be done from home on your own time.   Please consider helping Wayne Church raise significant funds for our local ministries by volunteering for this fun and independent task.   To do so, contact the church office or Bill or Virginia Gardiner.   THANK YOU!!
IHN TRAINING IN JANUARY 2020
Save the date now! Interfaith Hospitality Network (IHN) will be coming to Wayne Church on January 19, 2020 to conduct a one-hour training session after worship to anyone who is interested in serving in that ministry. IHN, an interfaith organization, enables volunteers from local congregations and the  community, to provide compassion, meals, and temporary shelter for homeless families.   A light lunch will be served. The Wayne Church family has opportunities six times a year to cook and serve meals, and serve as overnight chaperones when IHN guests are staying at Central Baptist Church in Wayne.
STUDIES AND CLASSES
MEN'S BREAKFAST - BOOK OF EPHESIANS
When: 1st & 3rd Thursdays at 6:15am
Date: December 19
Where: The Well
God knew before the world began that his people would face hardship, so he gave us his Word. The Book of Ephesians is a survival manual—it equips believers to thrive in a world that turns away from the message of Jesus Christ. In 9 sessions, we will dig into the text of Ephesians verse-by-verse and be challenged to live out the Gospel. If the people around us are going to hear the Gospel, it's going to be from our lips.
BOOK OF JAMES STUDY
When: Sundays @ 9:15am
Where: The Upper Room (#A204, Floor 2)
This is a video-based study, written and shared by the incredible Francis Chan. Come to one, come to all.   You won’t be disappointed, and you will always be welcome! True faith produces fruit. A faith without action and without life change is ultimately a dead faith. The Book of James speaks to the realities of a living faith in Jesus—the kind of roll-up-your-sleeves and get-your-hands-dirty discipleship that is borne out of an authentic relationship with the risen Lord. James writes to believers who know suffering, who've faced trials, and who ultimately desire a deep relationship with God.
HISTORY OF THE BIBLE
When: Sundays @ 9:15am
Where: Counters Room (#E101, Floor 1R)
Have you ever wondered how the Bible came to be? Join us as we study the story of the world's most influential book. This class is led by Lowell Gustafson.
A STUDY OF THE APOCRYPHA
When: Wednesdays @ 9:15-11:15am
Where: Upper Room (#A204, Floor 2)
All are welcome to the Wednesday morning Bible Study as we tackle the Apocrypha. What's the Apocrypha? It's a series of 15 books written during the time between the Old and New Testaments. This class is led by Katie McNabb.
LADIES TUESDAY MORNING BIBLE STUDY
When: Tuesdays @ 10:15
Where: Conference Room
