LEADERSHIP UPDATE!
In January, Carolyn King-Layden, Board of Trustees Member and liaison person on Leadership Council, gave the congregation an update:

There have been several changes around Wayne Church lately. We had the Sanctuary refresh project, we have a new Well, new office spaces, a new food pantry, a new nursery for our many new babies in the congregation, new landscape, among other things.

Another change occurring soon is the retirement of Janet French, our children’s Director of Christian Education. Janet’s family is growing and she is moving south to be closer to her new grand-daughter.

Just like Janet’s family is growing, our church family is growing as well. We currently have
31 babies, birth through Kindergarten; 15 children in 1 st and 2 nd grade; 18 children in 3 rd -5 th grade. That’s 64 babies and young children! That’s a lot! There are some other people in our congregation who are still developing and coming soon! That is all very exciting!

In the fall, Leadership Council sent an online survey to the parents of these children. That was followed up by a meeting on January 13 with those parents and members of Leadership Council. On the agenda at that meeting was Sunday Worship and Sunday school timing; Volunteerism; Programs; Ministry Setting and Curriculum. There was a lot of conversation around these subjects. There was also a “task force” formed, of parents and some members of Leadership, who will be driving the process of the search for a new Christian Educator.

Please join us in being prayerful that the right person to fill the position of Director of Christian Education finds us, and we find the right person for our church!

Also, if there are members of the congregation who do not have young children, but would like to be involved in shepherding Sunday School in any way, there is always an opportunity to help out! Thank you.
LADIES' EVENING BIBLE STUDY
Please join us for a study on Prayer!

Where : Kimm Ebersole’s House (address in the church directory or call the church office)
When : Every Other Wednesday 7pm
Dates:   3/13, 3/27, 4/10

Book: “A Woman of Prayer” by Betty Henderson. In her uplifting and practical Bible study, Betty Henderson invites you to live life as A Woman of Prayer. Believers acknowledge that prayer is an integral part of Christian living, but how many of us know what prayer entails? From the basic “Prayer Principles” to the realities of “Prayer Practiced,” Henderson takes Christian women step-by-step through Scripture, demystifying our prayer life with a challenge to simply converse with the God Who hears. Successive Bible study and practical, spiritual application draw out valuable lessons from God’s Word for women today.

Books can be purchased from Amazon.com (use Amazon Smile to give our church credit) for $4.50 (used) to $8.50 (new). If you need any assistance, feel free to contact Kimm. This is very casual, dress comfy, come as you can; come late or leave early, as your schedule allows.

How to be God’s Man… This world esteems men of power, wealth, and success. Masculinity is defined by the strength of a man's body, mind, and investment portfolio. But what is God’s concept of masculinity? What portrait does the Bible paint of manhood? In this 5-part course, Todd Wagner, Senior Pastor of Watermark Community Church in Dallas, Texas, walks through five facets of biblical manhood, giving powerful imperatives on how to be God’s man. Please join us!
