BUILDING A CHURCH SANCTUARY FOR GOOD SPRINGS UMC
JUNE 22 - 30, 2019
This year's Senior High Mission Project will be to build a sanctuary for the Choctaw Nation. This is a joint effort between Good Springs UMC, Oklahoma Indian Missionary Conference and The Chocataw Nation along with Wayne Church.

An informational meeting for adults and Senior High youth will be held THIS SUNDAY, April 28 at 12 noon in the Sanctuary. If interested or have any questions, please contact Matt Schweitzer or Scott Wilson.

COURAGEOUS CONVERSATIONS: GENERAL CONFERENCE

On Sunday, May 12 th , the Women’s Retreat team is having a Bake Sale! A delicious variety of baked goods will be available. Honor the women in your life and plan to bring home dessert for Mother’s Day. All proceeds to benefit the Women’s Retreat Scholarship Fund. LADIES' SPRING POTLUCK!

Save the date now! We will be enjoying a fun night of fellowship and delicious food while catching up with friends and strengthening connections within our church family. Plan to bring an appetizer, side or even main dish. Michele Leonard will, once again, be our gracious hostess and she will provide the rest. Festivities will begin at 7pm but stop in when you can.

LADIES' YOUNG LIVES EVENING OF SERVICE
THURSDAY, MAY 2, 5 - 8 PM
Young Lives is a faith based organization who helps teen Moms. They hold a “club” every week with leaders who fellowship with them and share the Gospel. We will be providing a meal for about 25 people, delivering it to Phoenixville, serving, and helping with babysitting during the club. Ladies, if you are interested, please contact Laney Douthit.
ANOTHER GREAT RUMMAGE SALE!
Thanks  to all who donated to, worked at, and shopped at our April Rummage sale.   With your help, we raised $1800 for church missions, redeemed gift certificates from a half-dozen food pantry recipients, gathered shoes for Chosen 300 and socks for homeless men, passed on lots of good stuff for GreenDrop, kept our things out of the landfill, and created many happy customers!   The Rummage Team will be meeting over the summer to keep this activity going next fall.   If you'd like to join the team, please contact the church office.

FIRST QUARTER FINANCIAL REPORT
First quarter revenue was $271,000, which exceeded the budget and Q1 2018.   First quarter expenses were $196,000,  which  slightly exceeded  the budget and was in-line with Q1 2018.  Consistent with prior years, revenue exceeded expenses in the first quarter due to advanced payments of 2019 pledges.   For the time being, the first quarter surplus is being used to replenish reserves which remain below target levels.
