THANKS FOR YOUR SERVICE!
A huge thank you to everyone who helped serve our brothers and sisters in need on Saturday, April 26th. Because of your generosity, we were able to provide a warm meal and welcoming smiles to over 145 guests at the Chosen 300 location on Spring Garden Street in Philadelphia.
This ministry is only possible because of the many hands and hearts involved:
- Bob King donated bagels.
- Wanda Allaire organized the volunteer sign-ups—thank you for keeping us on track!
- In our church kitchen, Liz Howley and Jacquelyn Gatti prepared a delicious meal of turkey, veggie pasta salad, rolls, fruit, and cookies.
- Lowell Gustafson and Pallavi Lanka took care of the shopping for the meal.
- A big shout-out to our serving crew: Becky and Paul Douglas, Bill Allaire, Sara Allaire and her friend Joe, Pallavi, Shaivi and Rohan Vuyyuru, Wendi Buchanan, Jed, and Eileen and Tad Riddell. The Riddell family also helped with transporting the food and supplies to Philadelphia.
- Special thanks to Becky Douglas, who offered an inspirational song to kick off the meal.
And of course, we’re deeply grateful to everyone who contributed food or funds to support this outreach. Your kindness truly makes a difference.
Looking Ahead:
Our next opportunity to serve is Saturday, June 28th at 1116 Spring Garden Street, Philadelphia. Many types of help are needed—no experience necessary! Whether you’d like to shop, cook, serve, deliver a message, or share music, we welcome your gifts and presence. To get involved, contact Bruce St. Clair or Agnes Fischer. Come be part of something meaningful—you can expect a moving and joy-filled experience.

FOOD PANTRY APRIL 2025
Thanks to your continued generosity, our food pantry saw another impactful month! Over the five distribution weeks in April, we served 329 individuals. The weekly breakdown: 54, 74, 70, 76, and 55 guests. This brings our year-to-date total to 1,198—well ahead of last year’s totals at this time (910 YTD and 226 for April 2024). Our third-week distribution featured a special Easter offering of hams and side dishes, bringing extra joy and nourishment to our guests. We also continue to support Surrey with biweekly deliveries of 20 pantry bags and YoungLives, who received 10 bags along with a large assortment of clothing. These items were generously donated by our congregation and friends in the community. Both organizations have expressed heartfelt gratitude for the ongoing care and support they receive from us. Together, we are making a meaningful difference.

THE BOTTLES ARRIVE SUNDAY!
This Mother’s Day, we’re kicking off a fundraiser to support YoungLives, a ministry that walks alongside teen moms with mentoring, resources, and the love of Christ. Here’s how you can help: Pick up a baby bottle after church on Mother’s Day and fill it with loose change, cash, or checks over the coming weeks. Then return your filled bottle by Father’s Day. Your donation can make a big difference in the lives of young mothers and their babies—offering hope, support, and a future filled with possibility. Let’s come together as a church family to show what love in action looks like.

NEW LADIES' STUDY ON TUESDAY MORNING
12 Ordinary Men Who Lived Extraordinary Lives by Diane Rafferty
Starts Tuesday, May 13 at 10am on Zoom
This study is designed to explore how God speaks to and through ordinary people and how His message can be applied to your life today. We will examine the lives of twelve ordinary men whom God chose to tell His message. They vary in age, education, occupation, marital status, and spiritual maturity. Some of them complain to God about the message and others are fearful to speak the message and one even runs away. These were real men living in a world much like ours today, and just like then, it is still God's joy to work through "ordinary" people to reveal His message to the world. Are you an ordinary person? If so, God wants to talk to you! Newcomers always welcome! Please contact Nancy Brown to get set up with Zoom.
