NEW SERMON SERIES CONTINUES !
Hamilton: Faith & the Power to Transform
Alexander Hamilton led a remarkable life. A Caribbean immigrant born into poverty to unwed parents, he was orphaned at the age of 12 along with his brother James. Two years later the boys' legal guardian committed suicide. Shortly afterwards a hurricane devastated his home island of St. Croix. How could this boy, who endured such incredible hardship, end up a Founding Father of our country? The story that follows is one of faith, grace, forgiveness and God's power to transform. Join us for this revealing sermon series as we explore the unlikely life of Alexander Hamilton as told in Kevin Cloud’s book, God & Hamilton.

LADIES' BOOK DISCUSSION
Looking for some interesting reading this summer? Then check out the novel we will be discussing next, The Dovekeepers , by Alice Hoffman. This one will not disappoint! Nearly two thousand years ago, nine hundred Jews held out for months against armies of Romans on Masada, a mountain in the Judean desert. According to the ancient historian Josephus, two women and five children survived. Based on this tragic and iconic event, Hoffman’s novel is a spellbinding tale of four extraordinarily bold, resourceful, and sensuous women. And perhaps just a nice little escape from the current, daily struggles. We are hoping to gather in person on Monday, September 14 at 7pm on Michele Leonard's patio. We will firm that plan up as we get closer. Till then, get reading!
If you have any questions, please email Miss Christine.
Listen in as Pastor Tom addresses any questions or concerns that have popped up over the past week. You will also have an opportunity to ask a question during the Live session.

LADIES BIBLE STUDY ON ZOOM!
Wednesday, August 12 at 7:30-8:45pm

All women are invited to join us for the last installment of a casual summer Bible Study and devotional time over Zoom. We have been focusing on select chapters from Pew Sisters: A Women's Small-group Bible Study, which focuses on what God is doing in the lives of real women today. From depression to grief to cancer, women from all over the Church share their stories for the consolation and encouragement of their sisters in faith. No prep is needed and each evening will offer a stand-alone focus, so you can join whenever it suits your schedule! However, since this gathering will occur over Zoom, we will need to receive an email from you so that we can send out the invite. We can accept your email indicating interest up to 4 p.m. on the day of the study.  Please join us for a time of sharing and reflection on our Lord’s presence and support in our lives!  Send Zoom Host Becky Douglas your email with interest below.
MEN'S BREAKFAST: BOOK OF JUDGES VIA ZOOM
When: Thursdays @ 7am
Dates: August 6
Please join us from your home as we study the Book of Judges. The book of Judges cracks a window into depths of the human soul. Watch a nation struggle with its identity and relationship to its God.

In this series, pastor and author J.D. Greear wades into the book of Judges to shine a light onto the muddy waters of human rebellion. The stories and truths within are not just archaic tales with no relevance for us today. Rather, J.D. works through each chapter unpacking the truth of God’s grace in the midst of human wickedness, and shows how only the divine can redeem the fallen.

For anyone interested, please contact Pastor Ebersole and he will send you the instructions to sign on to Zoom from your computer or other device.  Zoom can be used with laptops, iphones, tablets, ipads, and computers- most any device that can connect to the internet.
