CHILDREN'S CHURCH ADULT SHEPHERDS NEEDED!
Christine, our Director of Children's Ministry, is looking for at least 8 adults who are willing to be a shepherd for Children’s Church during the 10:30 am worship service, once every other month. No prep required!
LEADERSHIP UPDATE
In August, John Wannenburg updated the congregation on what parents and kids can expect with Sunday School starting up. With help from volunteers, rooms have been painted, supplies have been reorganized, new furniture and curriculum have been purchased.  The kids will follow a new schedule. All the children (K-5th) will gather in the old Art Room, #E205 at 9:10am Sunday morning. From 9:10- 9:30 there will be group activity. At 9:30, the kids will break into two groups with K-2nd staying in room #E205, and 3rd – 5th grade will go to room #E202. Both groups will alternate Sundays cycling through the Bible Story Room #E211. These opportunities would not have been possible without your significant input via the surveys you participated in as well as serving on the task force groups. You are also encouraged to sign up to be shepherds and guide our children through their new program. Thank you for your continued support! t.

FALL RUMMAGE SALE!   SEPTEMBER 20 & 21
DONATION HOURS:
We begin accepting donations 11:30am Sunday, September 15 through September 18.
SALE HOURS:
Friday, 8:30am – 1 pm, Saturday, 9am – 12 noon

September is a great time to declutter and get organized before the Holidays are upon us! (And they will be before you know it!) So pack up those donation boxes now! Our September Rummage sale is highly attended as there are many people in need of school supplies and gently worn clothes and shoes for their school aged children. College students are on the lookout for dorm and apartment items (linens, kitchenware, rugs, pictures, decorative items, etc.) Many appreciate the low prices of our clothing. Please donate only good clothing. No stains or tears. Collectors like our vintage items and nice jewelry which can earn us a nice chunk of change to help with Missions! It’s never too early to plan for Halloween and even Christmas, so any decorative items, costumes, or crafting items would be welcome as well. We cannot accept TV/computer monitors, textbooks, encyclopedias, or anything stained or broken. We’ll happily take books, but we’d like for them to be in good condition, and if possible, best sellers! Children’s books sell well. The goal is win win - You clear out space, nice items are sold, and the Church has additional money to help with Missions! THANK YOU ALL!

UPCOMING STUDIES AND CLASSES
SCHOOL IS STARTING EVERYWHERE, EVEN WAYNE CHURCH!
Check out all of the studies starting up in the coming weeks!
HISTORY OF THE BIBLE
When: Starts Sunday, September 15 @ 9:15am
Have you ever wondered how the Bible came to be? Join us as we study the story of the world's most influential book. The Bible is not a prescription to a complete, fixed religious system, but rather a product of a long and intriguing process, which has inspired Judaism and Christianity, but still does not describe the whole of either religion. This class will be led by Lowell Gustafson. Click below to learn more about this fantastic study!
THE MIRACLES OF JESUS
When: Starting Sunday, September 15 at 9:15am for 7 weeks
Where: The Upper Room (#A204, Floor 2)
The Miracles of Jesus, by Jennie Allen, is about a God who can accomplish anything. Do you ever feel like the situation you’re facing is too big even for God? Sometimes we face problems, people, or circumstances that seem impossible to overcome. Yet the Bible shows us time and again how Jesus performed miracles during his time on earth. We see that he is generous, compassionate, and honoring toward all of us—and nothing is too big or too small for us to bring to him.   Spend time exploring the four Gospels during this seven-session study, filmed on location in Israel. You’ll find yourself in awe of a God who relentlessly seeks, saves, and restores us.
A STUDY OF THE APOCRYPHA
When: Starting Wednesday, September 18 - 9:15-11:15am
Where: Upper Room (#A204, Floor 2)
Please join our Wednesday morning Bible Study as we tackle the Apocrypha. What's the Apocrypha? It's a series of 15 books written during the time between the Old and New Testaments. These books were originally included in the Septuagint, the version of the Hebrew Scriptures translated into Greek between the 3rd and 2nd centuries BC which was the early church's Bible. While the Catholic Church generally includes them in the Bible, the Protestant does not. Come and see what you think. This class is led by Katie McNabb.
LADIES EVENING BIBLE STUDY
When: Alternating Wednesdays, starting September 25 @ 7pm
Dates: 9/25, 10/9, 10/23, 11/6, 11/20
Where: Kimm Ebersole’s Home (check directory for address)
Please plan to join us as we unpack this new 5 week Bible study, written by the creators of “The War Room”. This study guides readers through examining how we determine and find our true identity in Christ. We will then watch the movie together as a group .
Overcomer: Many people feel they are less than who God says they are. We get our identity from our careers, political positions, roles in the family, among other things.   However, what is true about us is that we are made by a God who loves us, and the Gospel can bring us into a relationship with Him. When we understand who God is, we understand who we are. Available on Amazon (use Amazon Smile in order for our church to get a percentage!) Cost per book is $8.99 Feel free to join us even if you do not purchase the book – it is not required!
LADIES TUESDAY MORNING BIBLE STUDY
When: Starting Tuesday, October 1 @ 10:15 – 11:30am
Where: Conference Room
Ladies’ Morning Bible Study is continuing! We’ll start our studies off with the Book of Mathew. This is a nurturing group led by Nancy Brown, happy to have you regardless of your level of Bible knowledge. We move at a slow pace. Only requirement is a desire to connect and grow. We always open with a time of sharing and praying. Please consider giving our group a try!
PRAYER 101
When: Starts Wednesday, October 9th @ 7 - 8:30 pm
Where: Upper Room (#A204, Floor 2)
After taking this 9 week class, expect to be a transformed person: comfortable, confident and bold in praying. Based on " Praying to Change Your Life" by Pastor Suzette Caldwell, this class will help you gain a greater understanding of why we pray and how to pray over any topic on earth and most importantly, to be effective in praying. This class will be led by Charles Caristan.
SIMON PETER: FLAWED BUT FAITHFUL DISCIPLE
When: Starting Thursday, October 10 @ 7pm
Where: Upper Room (#A204, Floor 2)
He left everything to follow his teacher and possessed a passion that would change the world. That’s one way to describe Peter. Here’s another: poor, uneducated, quick-tempered, and full of doubts and fears. Doesn’t even sound like the same man. And that’s the point of this 7 week Bible study by Adam Hamilton. Peter was just an ordinary guy who followed God’s extraordinary call. Discover how you, too, have special gifts, talents, and abilities that God can use to make a difference today. This class will be led by Galen Black.
MEN'S BREAKFAST
When: 1st & 3rd Thursdays at 6:15am
Date: September 19
Where: The Well
Join us while we continue the conversation about Generation Z and how to ensure the next generation understands and embraces a biblical worldview.
