Sponsor the Open House Weekend!

Make plans now to participate in the 7th annual Spokane REALTORS® Open House Weekend - April 29th & 30th!

This event kicks off the new buying/selling season and offers a great opportunity to bring exposure to your listings and business.

Download the event logo (pictured above), to help you promote the event with your clients, online here.

Looking to reach a qualified audience of home buyers and the REALTORS® representing them?  Then you'll want to sponsor the Spokane REALTORS® Open House Weekend!

We are sending a letter (pictured above, online here) inviting affiliate members and friends to join us.

Sponsorship is offered at $2,500 for up to five event sponsors who will be featured prominently in all event promotion between now and the event on April 29-30.

It's the largest residential real estate promotion event of the year - be a part of it with us!

We are seeking a headquarter house for the event - a listed residence, close to town, with easy access and parking - where media representatives can get event information and photos, and where association members can get supplies through the weekend (contest entry forms, REALTOR® balloons, etc.).

The headquarter house we used last year (pictured above) sold quickly as a direct result of the exposure it received during our event.

If you have a listing you would like to offer as this year's headquarter house for the Spokane REALTORS® Open House Weekend, please send address, photo, and brief description to Tony Byrne via email here.

NEXT WEEK!

Deadline to submit your listing for consideration is 9 a.m. on Monday, April 10th.

Meanwhile, start thinking about these (optional) event-specific marketing opportunities offered by our advertising partners, the Inlander and The Spokesman-Review:

The Voice for Real Estate

Mixed signals on the economy.

Home sales are down while contract signings are up.

The one common statistic, though, is that households want to buy. They just can't always find much inventory to look at and often homes are out of their price range.

The Voice for Real Estate for the week of April 3 also looks at the coming tax reform debate, how reauthorization of federal flood insurance is shaping up, and the challenges facing the appraisal industry.

A quick look at the AE Institute in Denver is covered as well.

April is Fair Housing Month

April is Fair Housing Month, a dedicated time when we bring special attention to the Fair Housing Act, part of the Civil Rights Act of 1968.

The Fair Housing Act prohibits discrimination in housing because of these protected classes:

  • Race
  • Color
  • Religion
  • National origin
  • Sex
  • Familial status/parental status
  • Handicap/disability

The State of Washington adds these protected classes:
  • Gender identity
  • Sexual orientation
  • Creed
  • Marital status
  • Veteran or military status

The City of Spokane adds this protected class:
  • Sexual orientation

2017 Washington REALTORS® President Margo Wheeler Willis (pictured at left) reminds us that REALTORS® are the leading advocates for housing and protecting the dream of home ownership, and we join the nation every year in recognizing Fair Housing Month in April.

Read her article on Fair Housing online here.

Washington REALTORS ® Legal Hotline lawyer Annie Fitzsimmons discusses compliance with federal and state Fair Housing Laws.

This video is the first in a series to share with the entire office.

Did you know your receptionist is subject to Fair Housing violations?
