New Drone Rule in a Week

The FAA's new small unmanned aircraft (drone) rule takes effect in a week, on August 29th.

The National Association of REALTORS® just posted a new Window to the Law video that explains the new rule and offers some "best practices" for drone use - it's the simplest and clearest explanation of the new rule from a REALTORS'® point of view that we've yet seen.

Nominations are Open

Nominations are open for directors to serve on your association board for 2017-2018.

There are five, two-year terms available on the board.

Nominees for directorships must be REALTOR® members who have served on a minimum of two (2) standing committees within the past seven (7) years or on one (1) standing committee within the past three (3) years.

If a candidate has served on only one (1) standing committee within the past three (3) years that candidate must also attend two (2) Board of Directors meetings within the twelve (12) months prior to running for Director.

Beginning in 2015, candidate committee attendance must be at a minimum of 80%, inclusive of excused absences, in order for service on said committee to be used to meet eligibility requirements.

To place a name in nomination with the Nominating Committee, please complete the application below .

Condolences

The SAR extends its condolences to the friends and family of Ralph Dahman, formerly with Coldwell Banker Tomlinson South.

Mr. Dahman passed away on August 3, 2016, after a fight with cancer.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Spokane or National Brain Tumor Society.

The Voice for Real Estate

NAR was the only major trade association to participate in a White House event on commercial drone use.

Rules on drones take effect on Aug. 29 and use of the devices in real estate is expected to pick up.
