IMPORTANT!

About 100 SAR members are not yet in compliance with the national Code of Ethics training requirement for the current cycle.  If you do not satisfy your Code of Ethics training requirement before the end of the year, your status as a REALTOR® will be subject to suspension.  Please see below for in-person Code of Ethics training at your SAR, or click here for online opportunities from NARCall your SAR if you have any questions: 326-9222.

REMEMBER: Your Code of Ethics training is at the heart of what it means to be a REALTOR® - please take it seriously and comply with your Code of Ethics training requirement promptly!  If you have already completed your Code of Ethics training for this cycle, congratulations - you're the boss!

Housing Headwinds in 2017

Under a backdrop of rising mortgage rates and shrinking consumer confidence, expect modest gains in existing-home sales in the new year, according to the National Association of REALTORS®' 2017 housing forecast, released Wednesday.

Who Must Pay?

Washington REALTORS ® Legal Hotline Attorney Annie Fitzsimmons answers this question from the Mailbag:

I have a buyer purchasing a property.

The HOA wants to charge the buyer a "move-in fee" and a "transfer fee."

The escrow company says that the Buyer must do what the CC&Rs say, that the Buyer must pay these fees.

Escrow is calling it an "industry standard."

The Purchase & Sale Agreement has the box checked on line 13, charges & assessments will be prepaid in full by Seller at closing.

Who must pay the HOA move-in and transfer fees?

Watch now to see how Annie weighs in on this question in her nine-minute video:
