Advertising Regulations
|
NEW!
Your Washington REALTORS® in-house lawyer,
Annie Fitzsimmons, is back this week with another video in her DOL (Department of Licensing) series.
Washington DOL is particularly concerned with rampant violations of advertising regulations - in particular, how brokers/firms are listing their names in advertisements and promotional materials.
Make sure you comply with the DOL's advertising regulations or it can become a critical issue for your business. Watch Annie's explanation to learn about the requirements in this five-minute video:

The Voice for Real Estate
|
Home buyers achieve a big victory with passage of reforms to FHA condo loan rules. Thanks to more than 150,000 letters from REALTORS®, easier condo financing is heading to President Obama's desk for his signature.
Other segments in the latest Voice for Real Estate video look at the progress being made to curb so-called drive-by lawsuits that target building owners who might need to make technical changes to their property to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
The video also looks at what you need to know if a home you're selling has surveillance cameras on it.

Surveillance Devices
|
Modern technology increasingly robs us of our privacy.
Our phones are tracking our movements in the physical world. Software is following us as we travel around the internet. Banks and credit cards companies are compiling our transaction history. And now, cameras are everywhere, recording our movements in public places and even in our own home.
What do you need to know about using audio or video recording devices in listed properties?

How to Buy in a Tight Market
|
Spokane is a seller's market these days.
Reports in the newspaper and on other news outlets say there are more buyers than sellers out there right now - something we haven't seen for years: "Housing Market Humming for Sellers"; "Home Prices Soaring Across the State"; "Home Prices Rising in Washington Faster than any other State."
You may be hearing stories of bidding wars, listings that sell before they hit the market, and properties that sell for more than asking price.
2016 SAR President Susie Luby shares more on How to Buy in a Tight Market, in her monthly guest column in Sunday's edition of The Spokesman Review (pictured above), online here.
Susie refers to How to Buy in a Tight Market (pictured above), a handy one-page guide created by NAR and co-branded to the SAR, which is available to you and your clients on the SAR website, or directly online here.
