We begin, this week, a four-part video series from NAR on how the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act impacts real estate, real estate professionals, and consumers.
This first video sets up the series and helps us understand the new tax law.
Then, we'll share three more videos in the series that focus on how the law will impact individuals and families, homeowners, and the real estate industry.
The first video runs seven minutes and is online here:

WUCIOA - Part 2
|
NEW!
A new law took effect on
July 1, 2018.
The Washington Uniform Common Interest Ownership Act is found at RCW 64.90 and is best known by its acronym, WUCIOA (pronounced, "woo-ki-oh-wa").
Washington REALTORS
®' Legal Hotline lawyer
Annie Fitzsimmons, last week, introduced the WUCIOA law in a new video, with details on how you know a community is a common interest community.
This week, Annie returns with Part 2 of this series where she explains why knowing about WUCIOA is important the transaction, particularly as it pertains to the public offering statement or the resale certificate.
WUCIOA adds additional responsibilities to our Brokers and could affect the timeline of the transaction, so please make sure you and everyone in your office understands this law.
See Annie's new 10-minute video - part two in her WUCIAO series - online here:
Part One of Annie's WUCIOA video series, from last week, is online here.

Unlock the Door - Please Share your Stories!
|
The stories have started coming in! We are hearing from REALTORS® from around the state about how the inventory crisis across Washington has severely impacted affordable ownership. If you have a story to share about the obstacles one of your clients has faced, we want to hear it! Please take a minute and submit it now. Did you know that according to the Washington Center for Real Estate Research, first-time buyers in King, Snohomish, Pierce and Kittitas Counties face home prices that are nearly double what they can afford? In many cases we need our own local officials to help solve this crisis, but the state's legislature must play a role as well. To help do that, we need to educate our elected officials about how the lack of affordable housing impacts the residents of our state. So, we are reaching out to REALTORS® across Washington to collect stories that explain how every part of the housing market is affected by this severe lack of inventory. Sharing these stories from constituents will be a powerful tool to help us motivate state legislators to focus on this critical issue that impacts homeowners and renters, as well as the ability of REALTORS® to help their clients buy and sell property.
Thank you, Jerry Martin, President Washington REALTORS®
