SAR Leadership Nominations are Open
|
DUE BY FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 28th
Nominations are open for directors to serve on your association board for 2019-2020.
There are five, two-year terms available on the board.
Nominees for directorships must be REALTOR® members of the Association who have: (i) served on a minimum of two (2) standing committees within the seven (7) years prior to the time of the election; (ii) served on one (1) standing committee within the three (3) years prior to the time of the election; or (iii) who are currently serving, or within the one (1) year prior to the time of the election have served, as President of the Young Professionals Network or President of the Women's Council of REALTORS®.
If a candidate has served on only one (1) standing committee within the three (3) years prior to the time of the election, that candidate must also attend two (2) Board of Directors meetings within the twelve (12) months prior to running for Director.
Candidate committee attendance must be at a minimum of 80%, inclusive of excused absences, in order for service on said committee to be used to meet eligibility requirements.

It's Time to Pack the Pantry!
|
Spokane Association of REALTORS® members will be out at the Spokane-area Albertsons grocery stores on September 6th and 7th for our annual food drive.
REALTORS® will be collecting food and cash donations to help Second Harvest stock the shelves of partner food banks serving local neighborhoods.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!
To volunteer for a short, two-hour shift at one of the Albertsons stores as REALTORS® Pack the Pantry, please call one of our Store Captains. The call list (pictured above) is online here.

General Election
Tuesday, November 6th
Spokane County reports 46% of Spokane County voters returned their ballots in the recently completed Primary Election.
The top two candidates in all contested races and all unopposed candidates now move forward to the general election for your consideration on
Tuesday, November 6th.
Meanwhile, your SAR Governmental Affairs Committee will keep in touch with its endorsed candidates including Washington State
Rep. Marcus Riccelli (WA03) (left, photo above) and his SAR Key Contact,
Eric Johnson (right, photo above).
We'll be out with the 2018 SAR Endorsed Candidates list as we near the November General Election.

Wire Transfer Fraud
|
The FBI reports it is aware of more than 78,000 incidents of wire transfer fraud in the past five years, with a dollar loss of more than $12 million.
Business E-mail Compromise (BEC)/E-mail Account Compromise (EAC) is a sophisticated scam targeting both businesses and individuals performing wire transfer payments.
The scam is frequently carried out when a subject compromises legitimate business e-mail accounts through social engineering or computer intrusion techniques to conduct unauthorized transfers of funds.
The scam may not always be associated with a request for transfer of funds.
A variation of the scam involves compromising legitimate business e-mail accounts and requesting Personally Identifiable Information (PII) or Wage and Tax Statement (W-2) forms for employees.
