Legislative Day is Thursday, January 24th but the full event actually spans two days.  
Wednesday, January 23rd is "Committee Day", where members discuss important association business and local and statewide industry trends.  
The shape of the association and how we advocate on the Hill is often formed in many of these meetings!

The lack of housing opportunities has reached crisis level in Washington State.  
This issue affects us all, creating a burden on home owners, renters, employers and on.  
Washington REALTORS® is pleased to announce a campaign called "Unlock the Door for Affordable Homeownership" to work with our elected officials on legislation surrounding condo liability, buildable lands, zoning requirements and more.  
Get a sneak peek of this campaign and hear a brief message from Washington REALTORS® CEO Steve Francks, Washington REALTORS® 2019 President Dale Chumbley, and Washington REALTORS® Government Affairs Director Nathan Gorton as we work with legislators, business owners, consumers, and leaders of non-profits & for profits to create affordable housing options for ALL.

2019 James S. Black Memorial Scholarship 
DEADLINE: February 22nd    
Applications are now being accepted for the 2019 James S. Black Memorial Scholarship.

This scholarship helps members pay for tuition and expenses leading to professional designations such as GRI, CRS, CPM, SIR, or MAI. 

The deadline to submit applications to the SAR is Friday, February 22nd.

The scholarship will be awarded March 21st  at the SAR's quarterly membership meeting at Centerplace Regional Events Center.

RPR Reports Record Engagement 

Realtors Property Resource ®, a subsidiary of the National Association of Realtors ®, reached a major user engagement milestone on its real estate data and analytics platform.

As of December 31, 2018, engagement with RPR among NAR members soared to a record 14.7 million sessions - a notable 29.5 percent increase from 2017.

The SAR was a beta-test site for RPR when it started a few years ago. 

The SAR continues to have one of the highest percentage of RPR users in the nation.

Your 2019 SAR annual dues were due January 1st, 2019.
In order to avoid the 10% late penalty please make sure you pay them by January 31, 2019.     

To pay your 2019 SAR annual dues online, click on the graphic below, which will bring up the login screen for the SAR member portal:  

Once online, use the Review and Pay Balance section to make your payment online.   

Alternately, you may retrieve an invoice while online to pay by mail, or you may pay in person at the SAR:

The SAR Special Events committee is preparing for another fun and memorable year - you can be a part of it!
Volunteers on this committee support many of the SAR's signature events: 3rd Grade Essay & Poster Contest, Golf Tournament, Food Drive, and Christmas Party.
This year's Special Events committee chair Shilo King (pictured) invites you to attend the first meeting of the year to explore how you can be a part of it all.

Whether you can volunteer a few hours or a few days this year, you are welcome to participate!

Register online now for the 32nd annual Real Estate Market Forum, covering trends in real estate, construction, and the local economy in the Spokane-Kootenai-Bonner County area.
This much-anticipated and well-attended event will be held, this year, on Thursday, February 21st, at the Spokane Convention Center.   

A dvance registration ends at noon on Friday, February 15.
