We’re excited to introduce two new additions to our team who bring a wealth of experience, passion, and dedication to trails and conservation.
Meet Mark
Mark has been a longstanding advocate of environmental conservation and stewardship. He has a diverse professional background having worked for private companies, government agencies, non-profits, and academia. In his various roles Mark has spent considerable time participating on prescribed burns, invasive plant management, public access, endangered species protection, environmental interpretation, fundraising, and volunteer management. While Mark has a diverse skill set, he admits his favorite work duties are those where he is outside getting his hands dirty.
You won’t just find Mark out in the woods or on a trail during work time, he enjoys spending his free time being outside and active. Mark can be found hiking, mountain biking, birdwatching, or running on trails regularly near his central Florida home, but his favorite way to spend his time is with his three, adult and nearly-adult, children.
Mark earned a BS degree (1996) in Wildlife Ecology and Conservation from the University of Florida and a MS degree (1999) in Forestry from North Carolina State University.
Meet Brad
Brad Trexler is a dedicated trails management professional in trail construction, maintenance, and program coordination across federal land management agencies. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Recreation, Parks, and Tourism Resources from West Virginia University in 2020, providing him with a strong foundation in natural resource management and outdoor recreation principles.
Most recently, Brad served as a Trail Specialist at Cuyahoga Valley National Park, where he helped lead comprehensive trail maintenance programs across 136+ miles of diverse trail systems. Prior to this role, he worked as a Forestry Technician with the USDA Forest Service at Eldorado National Forest, where he monitored recreation areas for safety compliance, coordinated interagency training exercises, and developed educational materials promoting environmental conservation.
When not working on trails, Brad is passionate about experiencing them firsthand through ultra distance running, camping, and backpacking adventures. This personal connection to outdoor recreation enhances his professional expertise and deepens his commitment to trail stewardship and conservation education. His combination of formal education, hands-on federal agency experience, and personal outdoor pursuits makes him a well-rounded advocate for sustainable trail management and public land access.
