Camp WEMO
Camp WEMO 2019 is June 2 - 7 at Camp Wakonda near Springfield. Camp WEMO is more than just a fun way for youth to spend a week of summer; camp is a place where we can make a positive difference in each other's lives. The activities at camp are an enrichment for the body, mind, and soul. Camp is where we can experience God, build new skills, learn and form friendships that last a lifetime. Camp should be fun because smiles, laughter, and joy bind our hearts. The deepest community can be sensed when trust and understanding carry each day forward. If our staff is successful, youth will gain not only self-esteem and self-confidence through their experience but a deeper sense of who they are as members of Christ's body. Everything we do is designed to inspire, educate and empower youth to grow in body, mind, spirit, and friendship.

We understand that the Kansas City Area Schools have missed several days of school due to weather and may still be in school during the days we are scheduled to be at camp. Unfortunately, we aren unable to move Camp WEMO to a different date. Arrangements can be made for late arrivals.

Registration closes for Camp on May 20th.
Pilgrimage 2019
Today is the last day to register to guarantee your spot
Pilgrimages have been happening since before the time of Jesus. Religious people of every tradition would make it a practice to travel to a holy site, at least once in their lifetimes--to take time out of their normal routine in order to experience something holy. Jewish people would travel to the temple at Jerusalem, Christians would travel to Canterbury or Rome, Muslims would go to Mecca, Hindus would go to the Ganges River, etc. Holy places have a long history. On each pilgrimage we travel beyond West Missouri, visiting the places that have been formational in the history of the Episcopal Church and of this country. We learn about brave and smart men and women who risked a lot to follow where they felt God was leading them--or who just fell backwards into doing the right thing – people just like us who are leaving their mark on history now, in some small way. A pilgrimage is not just about what happened in the past; it is also about how God is calling you into the future. How are you called to be at work in the world? What are you called to do with your life?
This summer we will be traveling to Glacier National Park. We will be leaving from KC early in the morning on July 8 and return July 16. During our trip we will be staying 5 nights at a campground just outside Glacier National Park in tents. During the day we will be taking hikes that can range from 2-16 miles. We are planning to visit the Crazy Horse and Mt. Rushmore monuments on the way home.
The Pilgrimage is open to youth currently in grades 8-12, young adults, and adults that wish to be a chaperone. The cost for the Pilgrimage 2019 is $600, this will cover all travel, hotel on the way to and back, food and any activities we participate in as a group.
Happening #79
Why come to Happening? Simply put, Happening is a spiritual awakening/renewal weekend for high school youth led by high school youth. Adult facilitators, lay and clergy, support the weekend and the preparations of the team leading the event. IMAGINE...youth give up their cell phones for a weekend to have real conversations with people about God - what could be better! Talk to youth/adults, see it in action and get inspired!

MissionPalooza 2019
"Seek and serve Christ in all persons, loving your neighbor as yourself. Strive for justice and peace among all people, and respect the dignity of every human being.”
That's what MissionPalooza is all about.

Why come to MissionPalooza? In a very tangible way, MissionPalooza lets us be Christ’s hands and feet in the world. For five days youth from Kansas, Missouri, and beyond come together in community, mission, fellowship and worship-both inside and outside the walls of the Church. Students spend the night at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Kansas City, Missouri, and spend their days in the urban mission field heeding Christ’s call to feed the hungry, visit the sick, and comfort those in need. We serve the community and grow in faith through volunteer service. Hopefully, this experience will encourage everyone who participates to return home and volunteer locally!
