Career Connections

WEP and Wilson County Schools partnered to provide numerous connections for our students and teachers this semester. We partnered with Director of Career and Technical Education Matt Crayton to arrange a tour for principals at Carolina Family Health Centers, Construct and Smithfield Foods so they could learn more about career opportunities. We recorded 6 more "Learning from the Locals" videos for the library, continued work on our job board and connected numerous speakers to classrooms.

Below left, Hunt Football Coach and Educator Juan Jackson and Wilson Paint and Wallpaper Owner, Real Estate Developer and Property Manager Bobby Jenkins shared their career journeys with us. Dante Pittman spoke to several classes at Hunt and Fike.

Career Health Connections

Beddingfield Honors Pharmacy Tech students in Cathy Fess's class visited Carolina Family Health Centers, Longleaf Neuro-Medical Center and Wilson County Substance Prevention Coalition. Students learned about careers at these facilities, toured the pharmacies and patient areas, and received Narcan training. Thanks to CFHC Chief Pharmacy Officer Holly Gentry, Director of Communications Cari Green, WCSPC Executive Director Jeff Hill, Data Collector and Evaluator Pamela Letchworth and Longleaf Neuro-Medical Center Administrative Nurse Consultant- Division of State Operated Healthcare Facilities Dale Hilburn for making this happen for our students.
