Many Thanks to Our PNC
Just in case you missed it, we have a new Senior Pastor coming to Wake Forest Presbyterian Church! Rev. Elizabeth (Liz) Troyer's call was approved unaminously at a Congregational Meeting on June 15. If you'd like more information, you can read about it in this email blast.
We are so very fortunate to have had a fantastic PNC who prayerfully and thoughtfully discerned who God was calling into service here at WFPC. Many, many thanks to Ginny Poulsen (chair), Andres Esguerra, Lily Hare, Michael Smith, Hugh Terrell, Amy Voelker, and Kerri Young.

Keynote Speaker at Massanetta
Our very own Katherine Peiper will be out of office the first couple weeks of July as she heads up to Massanetta Springs to be the keynote speaker at their middle school conference. This is a HUGE honor for Katherine! Please lift her up in prayers that she may be a blessing to all the youth (and advisors) there.
From the Massenetta Springs website:
Our theme for middle school conference 2025 is “Holy Love, Wholly Loved,” taken from 1 John 4. We will explore the concept of God’s love for us which teaches us how to love others. We love God because God loves us and shows us perfect love. Loving God is loving people, and loving people is loving God. Additionally, we will think about how to navigate fear and how it hinders us from fully loving and being loved. Throughout each conference, we will explore this theme through movement and play, make it come to life through keynotes featuring skits, and reflect on it with discussions.

Nametag Round Up!
In the last few weeks, many of you may have been asked as you head into worship, “Would you please wear your name tag today?” A new committee at WFPC, named “Engagement and Vitality,” has started the process to make sure each member and friend of the church has a name tag before our new pastor arrives! It is our desire for our pastor to be able to see and say our names as we are introducing ourselves. Can you imagine the task of trying to learn the names of all the good folks in a church the size of ours? Let’s make it easier. And, in the meantime, it will be a help to Pastor John!
In asking you that question Sunday mornings, we have found that quite a few name tags are missing and have been able to replace them. We are going to ask a favor of all of you who have these in your car or at home to bring them in soon and place them back in the rack just inside the front doors to the right. Then we will be able to check them against our current list of members and friends and fill in with the missing ones. If you have looked at home and your name tag is truly missing, please put your name on the list in the middle of the rack to receive a new one.
It will be helpful also if you can leave your name tag in the rack each Sunday so that it will be waiting for you when you come back the next week. Officers and others who have blue badges should continue to wear those. So, please help us round up those name tags and get in the habit of wearing them. Thanks for helping with this project!

Dementia Caregivers Class
Our July meetings will be on Wednesday, July 16, 2025. The topic is The Brain and Dementia. This is a simple explanation of the brain's structure and function and how dementia impacts both. It includes examples of how medications prescribed for dementia work and why you may see some of the symptoms and behaviors that are typical of dementias.
The in-person class is from 10:00 until noon in Room B107, downstairs in the CLC. The same class will be held from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m. via Zoom. Classes are open to anyone who is interested in learning more about care for individuals with any type of dementia. There is no need to let anyone know that you are going to attend. Those who wish to attend the Zoom class and are not already on our mailing list may contact Pat Snyder via email (patsnyder137@gmail.com) to receive a link for the class. You may also view videos about dementia, including past classes, on Pat’s YouTube channel at Pat Snyder - YouTube or https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCrjzZYVyeopBjaslMmCLH3g.
