The Officer Nominating Team Wants to Hear from You!
The Officer Nominating Team has begun the process of seeking those who are called to serve Wake Forest Presbyterian Church as Deacons and Elders. Deacons serve for a three-year term and Elders serve for a two-year term beginning in January 2026. The ONT is seeking names from the congregation for those with the passion, skills, and experience for building up the community and helping to lead our ministries. If you are sensing God’s call to serve, a self-nomination is also appropriate.
All recommendations are appreciated and will be considered, but recommending a name to the Nominating Team does not mean they will be selected to serve at this time in the life of the church. Nomination forms will be available in the Narthex and names can be submitted online by clicking here and entering your nominations.

THANK YOU to everyone who attended this past Sunday! WFPC always supports their youth, and that support is felt and appreciated.
The youth of this church, led by our YLT (Youth Leadership Team) did a FANTASTIC job planning and carrying out a meaningful worship service.
In addition, we collected over 50 pairs of shoes, which will be donated to A Note in the Pocket, whose mission is "to provide quality clothing to homeless and impoverished children and families with dignity and love."

During the final week of Lent, we hear of the fullness of Christ's passion, his death, and resurrection. | |
Palm Sunday celebrates Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem. At WFPC we will observe Palm Sunday (April 13) beginning with a palm waving procession of the children of the church and the choir and continuing with a choir cantata.
Maundy Thursday commemorates the Last Supper and begins the Triduum, a three day period that includes Good Friday, Holy Saturday and Easter. At WFPC we will observe Maundy Thursday (April 17) at 7 p.m. with communion. That service will end with a Tenebrae and the stripping of the paraments from the sanctuary. Childcare will be available.
Easter is a time of joy celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ and the new life that brings. At WFPC we will celebrate with a 7 a.m. sunrise service and our regular 10 a.m. service. Both services will be in the sanctuary. Child care will not be available for the sunrise service. Easter will be our new bridge interim John Milholland’s first opportunity to preach for us, so don’t miss it!
You will see the paraments change from purple for Lent to white for Easter and Eastertide. Eastertide is the liturgical season that lasts seven weeks, beginning on the Sunday of Resurrection (Easter) and ending on Pentecost Sunday (June 8).
| |
Help Us Welcome John to WFPC!
We will formally welcome our bridge interim pastor, John Milholland, on Sunday, March 30, directly after worship in the lobby with snacks, fellowship, and conversation!
If you missed the announcement, you can learn more about John here.

Special Edition of Music Notes from Karen Reardon
| | Very often I write about a song or composer, but today I want to say "thank you” to those people in the Music Ministry who give of their time and talents each week to enhance our worship services. One of our members served a term in the NC Senate, another went to Culinary School, one works in the food service industry, several have taught school, another worked with delinquent children, many love travelling, one went to high school in Switzerland and two are ministers... just to mention a few. And to continue… one of our musicians led the Macy’s Day Parade in 1977, many in our group are fantastic seamstresses (you can see their handiwork around the church), one was a newspaper reporter, another drove a school bus, several have tech-oriented jobs, others have/had careers in the medical/caregiver field. We have a patent scientist, a telecommunications administrator, a banker/financial advisor, and a senior data scientific reviewer; a lawyer, a paralegal, a hydrogeologist, and a mold specialist -- and several play musical instruments! The list of their talents/occupations is endless. They come from numerous varied backgrounds to work together learning music to share. We are blessed by their dedication to this ministry! | | |
Easter Flowering Cross
Did you know, symbolic flowering crosses can be found in Christian art as early as the sixth century? The flowering Easter cross has become a tradition at WFPC. You are invited again this year to bring your own fresh flowers or even silk ones to help decorate the Cross. There will be one cross in the front circle. Please come by any time after 12:00, noon, on Saturday, April 19. The Enhancement Team will create a greenery base and you may stand before the cross to place your flower(s) upon it with reflection and reverence. Eventually, the cross will be fully covered with colorful flowers. The Cross becomes beautiful, new and alive in celebration of the Resurrection of Christ. On Easter Sunday you are invited to come by for family photos. The cross will remain up until mid-week, April 23.
| |
Dedicate an Easter Lily
If you would like to celebrate, honor, or remember a loved one, we offer honrariums and memorials to purchase Easter lilies. The lilies will be used to celebrate our Lord's resurrection on Easter. All dedications will be printed in the Palm Sunday bulletin.
Twenty plants will be available to take with you following Easter Sunday, April 20 10:00 service. Orders are due April 7.
| |
Rose Garden Dedication
Our Rose Garden Dedication will be held on April 27 after the worship service in the rose garden. Roses will be planted by families of WFPC members that we have lost in the past twelve months: Benny Hoots, Don Shupe, and Don McCorkle. Join us in the rose garden for a time of remembrance and celebration. (Note – historically this occurred on Palm Sunday, but we’ve rescheduled it to the first Sunday after Easter.)

Repairing The Breach - ISAIAH 58
March 5–April 20, 2025
Join with Presbyterians worldwide in sharing God’s love with our neighbors-in-need around the world by providing relief from natural disasters, food for the hungry, and support for the poor and oppressed.
Love Repairs the Breach
In Isaiah 58, we are called to be repairers of the breach. Showing our love, sharing our love, is how we are repairing the breach in so many of our interactions in this world, opening the path to a new season of justice, freedom and peace.
“Is not this the fast that I choose: to lose the bonds of injustice, to undo the thongs of the yoke, to let the oppressed go free, and to break every yoke? Is it not to share your bread with the hungry, and bring the homeless poor into your house; when you see the naked, to cover them, and not to hide yourself from your own kin? You shall raise up the foundations of many generations; you shall be called the repairer of the breach, the restorer of streets to live in.” —Isaiah 58
Jesus calls us to love one another — with the kind of love that is shared freely with all people. Your gifts to One Great Hour of Sharing bring a beacon of love and hope in our world and put the power of healing into the hands of those who need it most through three life-saving programs:
