Melanie has been in the mortgage industry for 14 years and is licensed for residential sales in both MN and WI with her office in Waite Park, but she spends a lot of time in Buffalo where she is part of a small networking group.

DO YOU SHARE THE SALARY RANGES ON JOB POSTINGS?
The dual-pronged push for pay transparency — from workers and from governments — is having a significant impact on job postings across the nation. An analysis of postings on job board Indeed found the share of postings including employer-provided salary range information more than doubled from February 2020 to February 2023, rising from 18.4% to 43.7%.
Experts have said employers need to get comfortable talking about pay in job postings because an increasing number of candidates expect it in a tight labor market. Recruiters have said pay transparency has made communication with candidates even more critical, because postings can sometimes create misinformation and confusion without proper context. Experts say offering pay transparency, even when you don't have to, can give employers a competitive advantage.
Many candidates want to know how much a position pays but are often too concerned about asking the question too soon since it could be seen as a negative. But experts say including salary information can streamline the hiring process for employers, since it saves time, cuts down on negotiations and leads to faster hiring and onboarding. Pros and cons - you decide!
