BRIX Real Estate Team
Erica Carlson/Scott Carlson
612-382-1304
6885 Sycamore Lane N #105
Maple Grove

Erica and Scott Carlson are a husband-and-wife real estate team based out of Rockford, with a home office in Maple Grove, one of 5 in the area. You may recognize Erica as she was an art teacher in the BHS school system. She loves the district and the community and is glad to be serving them in a different way.

Scott was in sales and then did the title work side of real estate, moving to selling real estate over time. They specialize in finding homes for people that are experiencing difficult times such as divorce, death and disability. Scott and Erica have some experience themselves with a child who needs extra support, thus the reason for getting into real estate, so they could have a more flexible schedule.

They are excited to be a part of the Chamber family - welcome!
HOLLYWOOD WAX
9 Central Ave
Buffalo
612-457-7271

Owner Kristin Torblaa is excited to have her new waxing studio up and running for you in what used to be the old Chamber building years ago. Believe me - it is much improved with her renovations and is the only full-service waxing studio in the area.

She offers full body waxing including face and brow/lash services as well. As a fully trained esthetician, graduating from Empire Beauty School along with years of additional classes and trainings, she is confident that your waxing experience will be professional and as pain free as possible. She will educate you with pre and post waxing tips, sharing that even after your first wax, you can be hair free for 2-4 weeks. Hair free is care free!

Kristin and her husband, 2 kids and 2 dogs live on the water in Maple Lake, where she was born and raised. Welcome to the Chamber family!

BUSINESS INFORMATION
BUFFALO STRONG ANNIVERSARY - THE BUSINESS COMMUNITY CAN GET INVOLVED

To continue in the efforts of connecting through a caring community and encouraging wellness efforts here, the Buffalo Strong Team is asking that businesses do something the week of February 6th to show their support.

The students at the high school will be emphasizing mental well-being during their RAVE week. If you want to have a speaker, offer some wellness activity, do some community service, host a spa day etc... those are all things that would be appropriate and fun to encourage wellness with your staff or the community. Our own Culver's will be giving a percentage of their sales to the Buffalo Strong cause on February 9th, so be sure to put that on your calendar now!

There will be a showing of a film about anxiety, called Angst. This will be shown in the Bison Room at the high school on February 9th from 6:30-8:30. Registration is required. More to come.
MEMBER/COMMUNITY HAPPENINGS
LOOKING FOR SOME GOOD LAUGHS - CHECK OUT THIS COMEDY SHOW AT THE LEGION THIS FRIDAY!
LOCAL FOOD SHELF UPDATE

Many of us enjoy the sights and sounds of the holiday train, but what we may not know is that CP rail gives to the local food shelves along their route. With their donation and the donations from the people in attendance- it goes a long way! This year CP Rail gave a $4500 cash donation, and the community gave $2500 in cash plus about 1,000 pounds in food! That's something to toot your horn about!

If you missed that opportunity, now until the end of February the Masons and Order of Eastern Star will help match any donations made to the food shelf via Old National Bank. Just write the check to the Nelson Lodge 135 and leave it at Old National Bank. Be sure to put "Buffalo Food Shelf" in the memo field. Your donation will be matched!

KEEPING YOU IN THE KNOW

Quick-link to the recent City of Buffalo public meetings:
Start the year with some random acts of kindness: Bring flowers to a nursing home, leave money at the laundry mat and say "This loads on me", let someone go ahead of you in line, leave a diaper and wipes on a changing table, leave a snack in the mailbox for your postal carrier. Lots of little ways to brighten someone's day!
