ET TU, KTVU?
MEDIA MATTERS:
KTVU—GUILTY OF ERRORS IN COVERAGE
The lack of media accountability in the local mainstream coverage of the Honorable Pamela Price is so thick, where does one begin?

Sometimes you just have to begin, whether in the middle, at the end, or at the beginning.
Let’s start with how I asked KTVU for a meeting with management and Ms. Price after I pointed out errors in the coverage of Ms. Price.
The answer was “No” to the meeting.

Am I “burying the lead here? “ I found the lack of media accountability and the reporting so bad that I filed an FCC complaint against KTVU. No response yet; something I will continue pursuing because I filed as an individual, not representing Civil Rights Attorney Pamela Price. This will be a story in and of itself as justice has been stripped from the democratic process as “Project 2025” is the theme of institutions gutted by the Trump Administration. And of course, when I filed it was days after I came on board February 1, 2026 to head communications and it was evident that KTVU would not be the only station that needed to be held accountable. Meetings with other stations and print media were requested as well.
First, we sent out the news release that demonstrated the media major false mantra that Price was week on crime because she took Life without the possibility of parole off the table in the case of the tragic murder of retired police officer Kevin Nashita, who was killed while protecting a KRON news team. Henry Lee’s inaccurate report is one example of inaccurate reporting by KTVU and other media outlets since Price took office and was recalled.
CITIZEN JOURNALISM RUN AMOK
The problem was not isolated to television coverage. Independent and online media platforms also played a significant role in shaping public perception.
Emily Raguso, founder of the Berkeley Scanner, is one of the main perpetrators of the lie that Price was weak on crime because she took Life Without the Possibility of Parole off the table. Raguso was asked to correct her inaccurate reporting. No response to date.
The media was shown this document, which was filed before Pamela Price took office and the O’Malley Administration clearly did not include special circumstances, LWOP.

It was explained to the media via the “Pamela Price Defies Recall Lies news release:
https://tinyurl.com/AttyPamelaPriceDefiesLies“ that not only did the O’Malley Administration not include LWOP in the document, the wrong defendant was charged for the murder.
A very sad underlying story is how the Campaign to Recall Pamela Price, made up of 14 police unions, former Alameda County Deputy District Attorney and former Congressman: Eric Swalwell, and retired Alameda County District Attorney Nancy O’Malley, Billionaire Philip Dreyfus and others, use of the widow of Kevin Nishita to carry the water for them against the Price Administration. As she was calling for justice, Nancy O’Malley did nothing to correct the lie that Pamela Price took “special circumstances,” “Life Without the Possibility of Parole” off the table in her husband’s heartbreaking case. O’Malley let “The Lie” lie and the citizens of Alameda County were robbed of their choice via the recall campaign that was based on lies and deception.
Equal justice under the law was stripped of its power as Ursula Jones Dickson was appointed and immediately began showing favoritism toward law enforcement by eliminating cases that would hold law enforcement accountable.
The families of Steven Taylor, Vinetta Martin and Maurice Monk did not get their day in court to stand for their murdered loved ones due to DA Ursula Jones Dickson’s actions.
