Aaron Larget-Caplan is currently collaborating with several composers on projects that expand the classical guitar repertory. He will begin his concert with the first of Vineet Shende's "
Carnatic Preludes, After J.S. Bach,"
a re-imagining of Bach preludes from the Well-Tempered Clavier in a South Indian music tradition. This will be paired with Larget-Caplan's own arrangements of the original Bach prelude. Aaron will then do his arrangement of John Cage's "In a Landscape," followed by "The Legend of Hagaromo" by the Japanese composer Keigo Fujii. Mussorgsky's "Pictures at an Exhibition" will complete this highly original program, which takes us well beyond the standard classical guitar offerings. Don't miss it.
You can sign up for Aaron's master class to be conducted on Sunday, September 13, at 11:00 am at Music Village on Union Avenue. If interested, contact Jerry Snyder at: firstname.lastname@example.org
