We've Been Busy!
The Riviera Beach Housing Authority (RBHA) has just finished our first phase of the Heron Estates affordable housing community on the former Ivey Green public housing complex with our co-development partner, Miami-based Housing Trust Group (HTG) and are getting ready to launch our second phase of workforce housing there. Plus, we have several off-site housing initiatives, the City Council just voted to allow city-owned land to be donated for affordable and workforce housing and we're seeking other co-development partners. About the RBHA

The Authority was founded in 1968 and is a special district of the City of Riviera Beach. It is also an agency of the federal Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), as are the half-dozen other housing authorities in Palm Beach County.

How We Got Here
Signing the Agreement. The Executive Director and the Board Chairman make it happen.
Phase 1: Heron Estates Senior
The groundbreaking was on May 1, 2018 and the grand opening will be in November. In between, a 91-unit, three-story complex was built for seniors aged 62 years and older who meet certain income-eligibility requirements--and they're just about all moved in! We thank HTG and Gulf Building for their efforts on behalf of quality, affordable housing. And our residents. .
Phase 2: Heron Estates Family
The Board held a Special Meeting last month to receive information from our co-development partner about Phase 2, which will be 79 townhouse-style units of family housing on the Ivey Green site. Development is set to launch early next year.

Request for Qualifications
As we continue our mission to develop affordable and workforce housing in Riviera Beach, we have issued a Request for Qualifications for a co-development partner for our next projects. The submission deadline is October 19, 2019--so hurry!. Click here f or the RFQ.
Grand Opening Coming Soon!
The plans are underway! Federal, state, county and local government and elected officials will join us to celebrate Heron Estates Senior, as well as former residents of the Ivey Green public housing complex, community leaders and former RBHA board members. Together, we will celebrate the first new affordable housing development built in Riviera Beach in nearly 40 years.
Did You Know...
...that the RBHA already has four units of single-family workforce housing? We purchased them in 2010-11 in partnership with the Palm Beach County Housing Finance Commission and we can rent them to residents who meet a variety of income-eligibility levels. Three of the houses are located on the east side of the city, while one is in the gated community of Thousand Oaks on the west end. The house on 29th Court is available for rent, by the way! That's it, upper left corner.
Property Manager
When residents began moving into Heron Estates Senior earlier this month, someone was already there: Senior Property Manager Anthony Poland. Mr. Poland is an employee of the RBHA's co-development partner, HTG, and he can answer any questions about the new development and speak to any concerns. Got a question? When We Meet

The five-member RBHA Board of Commissioners meets on the second Tuesday of each month at Authority offices. The meetings are open to the public and nearly all information is available to the public by request. Click here to read our Public Records Request Policy.
