March 31: Facilitating Social Recovery Event
Join the Wellesley Education Foundation on Thursday, March 31 at 7 pm for a virtual event on facilitating social recovery with Dr. Elizabeth Englander, the Executive Director of the Massachusetts Aggression Reduction Center (MARC) at Bridgewater State University.

2022 is bringing new challenges for parents. Raising kids today may feel like a dizzying set of issues: managing screen use (especially during a pandemic); promoting healthy social relationships; and avoiding social problems like bullying and cyberbullying. This presentation will focus on concrete, down-to-earth approaches that emphasize ways that parents can help build their child's emotional resilience, improve social skills, reduce screen time use (without constant conflict), minimize fighting and bullying and help their child emerge successfully from a global pandemic. Research can give us clear guidance, and supporting families and communities can help everyone raise happier children.

This discussion is free and open to all members of the Wellesley community. Click here for the Zoom link.

Reminder: Spring Sports - Physicals Due by March 14
Sport physicals are due in the Nurse's Office by Monday, March 14.

All student athletes are required to have a current physical examination on file in the Nurse's Office BEFORE a student can try out, practice or participate in a sport as required by the MIAA guidelines.

The Athletic Office or individual coaches will not accept physical examination reports.

If your student has a current physical examination on file in the Nurse's Office and it is NOT due to expire, you do not need to provide another copy.

If your student's physical exam expires during the sports season, your student will no longer be able to participate until a new physical examination has been obtained and is on file in the Nurse's Office.

PLEASE NOTE: Late submission of physicals delays the student from any athletic activity until all the registration requirements are complete.
Support the Nurse's Office
Thank you to everyone who has already donated snacks to the WHS Nurse's Office this semester! Please use this link to sign up to bring in a box (or two!) of snacks during the week of March 21 and any of the weeks in April so the Nursing Office may continue to offer snacks to students who visit the office during the school day.

Suggestions include granola bars, pretzels, gluten-free snacks, goldfish and crackers. Please put donations in the collection bin labeled "Nursing Office Donations" in the front vestibule at the high school next to the bookshelf.
Support Wellesley Education Foundation's Marathon Runner
Peter Knapp, a K-5 visual arts teacher at Hunnewell and Upham, will be running the Boston Marathon in April to raise funds for Wellesley Education Foundation! WEF is a non-profit organization that provides grants so teachers can learn, pilot and implement unique and emerging practices within their fields. WEF also organizes events, such as the WEF Spelling Bee and STEM Expo. Anything you can contribute to Peter's fundraising goals would go a long way toward supporting WEF and the amazing opportunities they afford our teachers and students.
