As the students head into the final quarter, we are already planning for the 2022-2023 school year. Whether you are interested in meeting new people within our community or you have big ideas on how our organization can best serve our community, we encourage you to get involved with the WHS PTSO.
We need volunteers at all levels for the 2022-2023 school year. At the leadership level, you have an opportunity to shape our organization and its future while forming a strong connection with our entire community. As a committee chair, you have the chance to organize meaningful support for our school. As a committee volunteer, you are part of a team!
Interested? Have questions? Email whsptsopres@gmail.com! More information is available on our website. In late April, we will host a "Meet the PTSO" event so you can come learn more about getting involved. Details will be shared soon.

Facilitating Social Recovery Event
|
|
2022 is bringing new challenges for parents. Raising kids today may feel like a dizzying set of issues: managing screen use (especially during a pandemic); promoting healthy social relationships; and avoiding social problems like bullying and cyberbullying. This presentation will focus on concrete, down-to-earth approaches that emphasize ways that parents can help build their child's emotional resilience, improve social skills, reduce screen time use (without constant conflict), minimize fighting and bullying and help their child emerge successfully from a global pandemic. Research can give us clear guidance, and supporting families and communities can help everyone raise happier children.
This discussion is free and open to all members of the Wellesley community. Click here for the Zoom link.

Wellesley High School Chorus Member
Accepted to All-National Mixed Choir
The Wellesley Public Schools Performing Arts Department is proud to announce that Wellesley High School Senior Molly Gandler was selected to perform with the NAfME (National Association for Music Education) Mixed Choir this past January. Molly is an active member of our WHS Choir program and has been recognized for her musical excellence through participation in the Massachusetts District and All-State festivals. Her acceptance into the Massachusetts All-State Choir qualified her to submit an audition for the All-National Choir this year.
Although the festival was online this year, Molly shared that it was still an incredible musical experience. 533 students from 48 States and Territories participated in the program over several days and recorded their selections. The final, recorded performance will be premiered this month to celebrate the month of March as “NAfME Music in Our Schools Month”.
Molly also stated “My acceptance to the National Choir could not have been possible without all the guidance and support from Dr. Kevin McDonald, WHS Choir Director. I could not be where I am today without his constant motivation and guidance.”
We congratulate Molly on this wonderful accomplishment and for representing our Department, School and Community so well! Molly performed as the Music Director of the A Cappella Group “Renegade” with her choir colleagues this past Friday and Saturday night (March 25th and 26th) at the annual “Acastock” at Wellesley High School.
