Please read this letter with some important reminders about the illness policy. There has been an increase in students arriving at school with minor symptoms. The Nursing Department would like to remind parents/guardians to keep their students home from school if they are experiencing ANY symptoms.

Please read this letter regarding winter sports physicals, which are due to the Nurse's Office by Monday, November 15.

After much conversation, deliberation and investigation, the co-chairs of Cotillion 2022 regret to inform families of the Class of 2022 and the Class of 2023 students that the Wellesley Cotillion has been cancelled. With current masking and social distancing policies and procedures, a successful event indoors for 700+ students in January will be difficult to safely organize. A committee of parent volunteers is currently being assembled for the 2023 Wellesley Cotillion with the hopes that the tradition may be continued in the future.

The next Guidance Department Parent Evening will be on November 17 at 7 pm and will cover information relevant for parents of current juniors (Class of 2023). The link will be available closer to the event.

Friends of Wellesley METCO, Inc. (FWMI) is an all-volunteer group of parents/guardians, teachers and community members whose mission is to support the educational experience of the METCO students in Wellesley Public Schools and build community between the Boston families in the program and Wellesley resident families.

FWMI is looking for volunteer board members, including people with an interest in assisting with communications, social media, and web presence, as well as those with an interest in working on grant writing and maintaining the electronic supporter list. FWMI holds monthly board meetings as well as occasional opportunities during the school year to connect with students and families. FWMI is a 501(c)(3) organization.

The opportunity to make in-kind donations will be available continuously throughout the school year. Use this link to sign up to donate items for upcoming needs at WHS. The budget for the child study lab, which provides an opportunity to gain practical child development experience to WHS students, has been hit especially hard by Covid-19.

Thank you very much to the many parents who helped make the faculty Halloween reception a success and who already made donations to the faculty care closet and the child study lab.

Kids Backing Kids is a local organization led by current and former WHS students to provide backpacks filled with supplies, food or other material resources to children and community partners.
