The City of Williston is helping prepare high school students for job openings in the Williston trade region. The first monthly panel discussion will be held on February 14. The panel will feature careers in the construction industry. For more information see the story below.

WHS to host Careers in Construction Panel February 14
Williston Economic Develop ment - Williston High School will offer its first Panel of Professionals on Friday, February 14 at 1:45 p.m. at the WHS Theater. The panel will feature careers in construction trades. The panels are being planned every month with a new topic. Careers in Construction Panel of Professionals
WHS prepares Students for Oilfield Careers
Williston Herald - There’s been a lot of talk about how the state needs to expose its youth to job opportunities in the oilfield and Williston High School is pioneering a careers academy that does just that. Now in its second year, the program, led by petroleum geologist Gerald McGillivray, has hosted more than 100 students. Read More
UND to host Oil Drilling Simulator, Lab
Bismarck Tribune - T he University of North Dakota’s Petroleum Engineering Department will host a $40 million, full-scale oil drilling simulator and lab. The donated rig is pictured at right along with Vamegh Rasouli, petroleum engineering professor and department chairman. Read More
Indoor Play Area opens at XWA
Williston Herald - One of the proposed highlights of the Williston Basin Airport is finally up and running. The oft-talked about children’s play area outside is now open. The space allows youth to burn off some energy before their flight or after they land. Read More
Power Play Project moves Forward
KUMV-TV - A group of Williston residents is raising money to build a $32 million hockey complex using an airplane hangar at the decommissioned Sloulin Field International Airport. Read More
McKenzie County to use Drones for Road Closures

Rou ndup - The Hard Spring Wheat Show 2020 &  North Dakota  State University (NDSU) Best of the Best in Wheat Production will be held at the  Williston  Area Recreation Center on February 13. The event will kick off at 7 a.m. with a free breakfast. Read More
CVB Annual Meeting February 18 in Williston
News Release - The Williston Convention & Visitors Bureau will host its 2020 Annual Meeting on February 18, at 11:30 a.m. at the Williston Area Recreation Center.
