“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.”

— Hebrews 13:8

The new year is an invitation to conversion. It calls us to renew our commitment to prayer, to the Sacraments, and to lives shaped by charity. Holiness is not achieved in grand gestures, but in daily faithfulness—choosing love, forgiveness, and mercy again and again.

As we step into this year, we ask for hearts open to God’s will, eyes attentive to those in need, and spirits willing to be transformed. May this year draw us closer to Christ and make us more clearly His presence in the world. We place the coming year in God’s hands, confident that He who has been faithful in the past will be faithful again.

While we are not completely settled in our new location, we are making progress. Please continue to pray that we can complete our transition as smoothly as possible. Thank you!

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

I pray that our WHYF family is well in this new year! God bless you and give you His Peace and prosperity.

January can seem like the longest month. Of course it is so dark and cold. The days are getting longer, actually, but we never really feel it. We just seem to sink deeper and deeper into the nothingness of the winter season. At least that's how I feel.

Now, imagine how those who do not live in Eternal Peace feel. Those who have been condemned have that constant feeling of darkness, but there is no hope of a Spring. There is only nothing, and that nothing lasts for eternity.

When we think of Heaven, we are grateful for the gift that Jesus offers. But we also must compare it with what exists if we do not desire to live with Our Savior forever: Eternal suffering of the Nothing of life without God. We are so grateful for a Savior, Jesus Christ, who rescues us from that Nothing to an EVERYTHING!

God bless you,

Fr. Sahd

Scripture of the Month

Matthew 11:28-30

“Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

Update from Russ Fry

Happy New Year! It is that time of year that we make resolutions to do things we have been meaning to do, or to do things that we know need to be done. This year, prayerfully consider resolving to give a little more support to Holy Family Radio. Whether it be monetary, or volunteering or just praying for us, know that we appreciate the help. Our move to the Trinity High School campus came with increased costs beyond just the moving expenses. Please consider a recurring monthly donation, which can be set up through the donation page you can access through our website. As we continue to face challenges with our ongoing settling in from the move, please join us in communicating our faith to Central PA. Our resolution this year is to do the best that we can to broadcast the Word of God to our listeners. God Bless!

January: The Most Holy Name of Jesus

We kick off the year by remembering the “...name that is above every name” (Phillipians 2:9). The Holy Name of Jesus contains immense power and majesty.

According to the Catechism of the Catholic Church: “The name ‘Jesus’ contains all: God and man and the whole economy of creation and salvation. To pray ‘Jesus’ is to invoke him and to call him within us. His name is the only one that contains the presence it signifies. Jesus is the Risen One, and whoever invokes the name of Jesus is welcoming the Son of God who loved him and who gave himself up for him.”

How to celebrate: Pray the Jesus Prayer, or make reparations to the sins against the Holy Name of Jesus by praying the Divine Praises every day this month.
