March 2026

As we approach the Solemnity of St. Joseph on March 19, we are invited to reflect on the "silent strength" of the man God chose to guard the Redeemer. While I try to emulate him, I have a problem with the "silent" part! I often talk before thinking... and this gets me into trouble. St. Joseph also has several other attributes that we should be trying to copy:

He is a model of obedient faith. His life was full of a series of "interruptions" by God. He always responded with immediate, unquestioning obedience.

He showed a dignity of hidden work. Joseph is the patron of our daily grind. He reminds us that our small repetitive tasks, when done with love, are the path to sanctity.

He is the guardian of the home. Joseph offers us a blueprint for the family: protection, presence, and prayer.

Join me in asking for the continued prayers of St. Joseph for Holy Family Radio.

Spiritual Advisor's Corner

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

During the First Sunday of Lent, at Mass, the Prayer after Communion asks this: "We pray, O Lord, that we may learn to hunger for Christ, the true and living Bread, and strive to live by every word which proceeds from your mouth."

How easily did I pray that prayer at Mass. And how easily did we all accept it. But really, do we want what it asks? Do we want to hunger for Christ, only? Do we want to live by every word which comes from Jesus' mouth? Do we really? Do we only want to live by the words that are easiest, or ones that fit our agendas? Do we want to hunger for Jesus, only when He is convenient?

Lent is such a difficult time, especially with our penances. We are not used to depriving ourselves of the goods of this world (or the not-so-goods of sin), and so it can be painful. But by desiring Christ, and His words, we are gaining so much more freedom and life! This is what Lent is all about: giving up the lesser for the greater!

God bless you and have a blessed Lent!

A Special Thank You!

As we all know, the success of Holy Family Radio is a result of the generosity of our faithful donors who have provided us with the funds that we need to pay our bills and for us to bring the Word of God to the people each day.

We want our donors to know how grateful we are for your ongoing generous support. Without you it would be difficult to continue this ministry. We are especially grateful to our monthly donors. Did you know that many of you have supported us since we went on the air almost 15 years ago?

Your generosity is remembered each day by Holy Family Radio. A Rosary is recited each day for the intentions of all of our donors. Our monthly donors are also remembered each morning and evening with the recitation of special prayers to Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal.

All of our donors are special to us and we want to say thank you for your support. At 7 pm on Friday, March 20, a special Mass will be offered for your intentions at St. Joseph Church in Mechanicsburg.

Thank you for bringing God’s Word to the people through Holy Family Radio.

A Saintly Reminder for the Month

“The best thing for us is not what we consider best, but what the Lord wants of us.”

March: St. Joseph

The Solemnity of St. Joseph (March 19)

Although not much is written in the Scriptures about the earthly father of Jesus and spouse of the Blessed Mother, we know that he was a holy and just man. He humbly acceptd his role in salvation history and faithfully followed God’s will for him and his family.

How to celebrate: Pray the Litany of St. Joseph. Use the Link below.
