November is an important month for our Church. It is dedicated to the Holy Souls in Purgatory. We commemorate all her faithful children who have departed from this life but have not yet attained the joys of Heaven. The Church tells us to pray for those who have gone into eternity. I encourage you to join the church in these prayers for our loved ones.
We also end the liturgical year in November and the first day of Advent begins on Sunday, November 28. This is one of my favorite seasons on our church calendar. It is my prayer that this holy season is better than any "pre-COVID" one. It can be a season of so much grace. Decide to make this a meaningful Advent, as we prepare to celebrate our Savior's Birth.
Pray for us as we at Holy Family Radio pray for you!

Spiritual Advisor's Corner
I was out for a run a few days ago, and I thought, "Wow, doesn't it seem like a really nice Fall day?" It was so strange, but it didn't even occur to me that it is actually Fall! We went from Summer to Fall very quickly, but we're here, for sure, now!
The changing of the seasons is something that we take for granted, but is such a special gift. It's something that reminds me that human beings are not in charge of some things. If we were, we'd make sure it was Spring, or Fall, or whatever our favorite season is, all year around! But we are not in charge!
At the point in the Mass where the priest asks us to "lift up our hearts," he says a prayer (called the Preface to the Eucharistic Prayer). In Ordinary Time, we have nine options we can pray on a Sunday, but one of my favorites says this about our Heavenly Father: "For you laid the foundations of the world and have arranged for the changing of times and seasons; you have formed man in your own image and set humanity over the whole world in all its wonder, to rule in your name over all you have made, and forever praise you in your mighty works, through Christ our Lord."
Sure, God put us in charge over creation, but He's the one that put it in motion. He controls the changing of times and seasons! As we prepare for Advent, perhaps we can get that proper perspective: We are God's hands on earth, but He's in charge, and time and seasons obey Him, and not us! God bless you.

At St. Peter's Catholic Church in Toronto, they have weekly marriage seminars for husbands.
At the session last week, the priest asked Giuseppe, who said he was approaching his 50th wedding anniversary, to take a few minutes to share some insight into how he had managed to stay married to the same woman all these years.
Giuseppe replied to the assembled husbands, "Wella, I'va tried to treat her nicea, spenda da money on her, but besta of all is, I tooka her to Italy for the 25th anniversary!"
The priest responded, "Giuseppe, you are an amazing inspiration to all the husbands here! Please tell us what you are planning for your wife for your 50th anniversary?"
Giuseppe proudly replied, " I gonna go pick her up."
