November 2025

November draws us into a sacred time of remembrance. This is time when the Church invites us to pause and pray for those who have gone before us. The falling leaves and quieting world around us mirror this spiritual season. We begin the month with All Saints’ Day, November 1, celebrating the countless souls who now share in the glory of God — both known and unknown. The next day, All Souls’ Day, November 2, calls us to prayer for those still being purified in God’s mercy.

November reminds us that our prayers matter and love is stronger than death. Offering Masses, praying the Rosary, or visiting a cemetery to pray for the departed are beautiful acts of mercy that reflect our faith in the Resurrection.

Let your prayer this month be one of both remembrance and hope.

Please also pray for WHYF and all of volunteers. In this month of thanksgiving, we are grateful to all of you!

We are sure you know that we are moving the WHYF Broadcast Center to the campus of Trinity High School. We will have two studios, an office and a conference room, in the school's Arts and Activity Center. This new facility will allow us to create better quality productions in a more professional setting. This renovation is costing us more than we anticipated. We could really use some funds to help complete this move.

If you have been waiting for a "Special Project" to donate to WHYF, HERE IS YOUR OPPORTUNITY.

This is an urgent request because we are anxious to make this new facility as nice as possible. If you can help us make this dream a reality, make your donation today.

Spiritual Advisor's Corner

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

If you sit outside during the late Summer and Fall, the bees are just everywhere. They are such pests. How often do we want to swat them or -- if they invade our home -- kill them by the colony.

But without bees, we have so much fewer food resources. They are vital to our life. What may seem like a nuisance or a bother is actually key to our lives.

Sometimes, our Faith can seem like a nuisance. Like, "Oh, I have to pray," or "I have to go to Mass." Or, sometimes, we can resent the fact that we have to live a moral Christian life. But following this Christian life leads to the "narrow way," and to the Kingdom of God. It is vital, even if at times it seems impossible, or at least like a nuisance. Without Jesus and the life that He left us, we cannot receive Eternal Life.

The next time you spot a bee, think about how necessary they are. The next time we get inconvenienced by an element of our Faith, reflect on its necessity for Eternity!

God bless you!

Fr. Sahd

For one extraordinary day each year, our area is transformed into a community-wide celebration of generosity that supports hundreds of community benefit organizations serving our region. Since 2012, in just 13 days of giving, 40,000 people have come together and raised more than $110 million for over 500 organizations. Holy Family Radio is again happy to be a part of this incredible event.

This year, the big day is NOVEMBER 21, 2025.

When you give on this day, you help unlock bonus funds that stretch your impact. Plan now to give generously on November 21! Your donation will help us earn more of the stretch pool that increases your gift. This is a great way to give to Holy Family Radio.

Update from Russ Fry

November is a time for reflecting and giving thanks for all our blessings. We, at Holy Family Radio, are thankful for so much. We have great listeners who have blessed us with their treasures of time, talent and donations. Your support has allowed us to upgrade a lot of equipment this past year, move to a vertical tower, and is enabling us to move to a new location. Our volunteers help us in so many ways! Thank you all so much! May God bless you this Thanksgiving! And, please, don’t forget to thank a Vet! God Bless!

Can you hear us now?

With new FCC approval, we are now broadcasting at 2,200 watts! This means our listeners have a stronger and more clear listening experience. We also got permission to broadcast at low power overnight. Thanks again, to all our supporters to made our tower project a success.

November: The Holy Souls in Purgatory

Major Feast: All Souls’ Day (November 2)

As Catholics, we believe that the Church is made up of the souls here on earth, the saints in heaven, and the souls suffering in Purgatory. The souls in Purgatory cannot pray for themselves and need our prayers and sacrifices to enter fully into the Beatific Vision. November is a set aside for the faithful to remember and pray for these brothers and sisters of ours.

How to celebrate: Visit the cemetery and pray for the dead. Not only is praying for the dead a spiritual work of mercy, but the Church also offers a plenary indulgence for those who do this during the first week of November.
