October is traditionally dedicated to the Holy Rosary, reminding us of the power of prayer to draw us closer to Christ through Mary. When we take up the beads, we are not simply repeating words, but entering into the mysteries of Christ’s life, death, and resurrection. Each Hail Mary is like a step on the path of faith, gently leading us deeper into the heart of the Gospel.
October’s crisp air and harvest colors remind us of God’s abundant blessings and the call to gratitude. Just as the earth brings forth fruit in its season, we too are invited to bring forth fruits of faith, hope, and love. This October, I encourage you to:
Renew our devotion to the Rosary.
Ask Mary to help us grow in holiness.
Live with gratitude, seeing the beauty of God’s creation all around us.
Joe Aponick (WHYF Board Member) and I recently attended the EWTN Radio Affiliate Conference in Washington D.C. This was the first time we were able to attend this annual event. We were overwhelmed by the amount of information we gained. Most importantly, we learned that everyone at EWTN is sincere, faithful and authentic. We also learned that as an affiliate, we are not alone. We interacted with representatives from Catholic stations from all over the country. Please pray for all the EWTN Radio Affiliates. (We now have about 500 stations!)
We took lots of photos. Please indulge me as I share some of them with you below!

After months of preparation, we are happy to announce that we are moving the WHYF Broadcast Center to the campus of Trinity High School. We will have two studios, an office and a conference room, in the school's Arts and Activity Center. This new facility will allow us to create better quality productions in a more professional setting. While we are excited about our upcoming move, we have lots of work to do. We need to transform the rooms we will be using into a radio station. We are going to need extra funds to cover the cost for this renovation.
If you have been waiting for a "Special Project" to donate to WHYF, HERE IS YOUR OPPORTUNITY.
This is an urgent request because we are anxious to make this move as soon as possible. If you can help us make this dream a reality, make your donation today-

Spiritual Advisor's Corner
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
A few weeks ago, I discovered a bat in my rectory office. I get scared easily, and of course, this really scared me. Even worse, after I trapped it in the office and closed the door, I went looking for it after a few minutes. The problem: I couldn't find it. It was now loose in my house somewhere, and I was too anxious to even sleep because of it.
I am now seeking every possible way to keep the thing out of my house. I'm willing to spend whatever so that another bat doesn't get into the house. Do I sound a bit paranoid?
This situation made me realize that God operates so much differently than we do. For us, our homes are for ourselves, and nothing else. For God, His home is for all of us. But heaven is pure, right? How could impure humans enter? God sent His pure Son, Jesus, to die for us, so that in sharing His life (through Baptism and the Eucharist, especially), we would be transformed into His Beloved Sons and Daughters, worthy of entrance into that home.
By rights, we humans are invaders to Heaven, like a bat in a home. But because of God's immense love for us, and His goodness, He does the work so that we invaders are welcomed eternally in His home. What an awesome and gracious God we have! I'm so glad that we have Holy Family Radio to continue to remind us about the never-ending love that Our Father has for us!
God bless you,
Fr. Sahd

Update from Russ Fry
As I prepared to come into the studio recently, I was putting on my jacket and I thought about October being a time for a change in the seasons. I couldn’t help but think about the changes we have experienced here at the station over the past few years. We have replaced a lot of equipment, added new shows, moved to a new tower and welcomed new Business Supporters. These changes were made with one thing in mind, to improve the listening experience. We love our listeners and want to be the best we can be for them. Just like the seasons, we won’t stop changing and evolving. Speaking of Business Supporters, please patronize them whenever you can. They are very important to the success of our station. God bless!

October: The Holy Rosary
Major Feast: Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary (October 7)
The Rosary is one of the most powerful forms of prayer that the Church gives to the faithful; popes, saints, even the Blessed Mother herself have spoken on the importance of praying the Rosary. Like Padre Pio who said: “Love the Madonna and pray the rosary, for her Rosary is the weapon against the evils of the world today. All graces given by God pass through the Blessed Mother.”
It’s a simple but profound way to meditate on the life of Jesus and to grow closer to Mary who will always lead us to her Son.
How to celebrate: Pray the Rosary (or pray a decade of the rosary).
