Opportunity to lead Washington Islamic Academy Education Established in 2001, Washington Islamic Academy is a full-time Islamic school serving the DC metro area. WIA believes in raising the standards of education through the implementation of Islamic studies. The Academy is striving to develop outstanding students who will be role models for future generations in achieving academic excellence and Islamic life-style. WIA is now completing its 12th year as a well-recognized Islamic school in the Greater Washington Area. Presently, one hundred and eighty students are enrolled at WIA. We are expecting a substantial increase for next year. WIA School follows Fairfax County Public School calendar. Within WIA's nurturing educational environment, its students have surpassed the national average in standardized testing and have succeeded in developing strong Muslim identities; that will help make them a role model to society. Description of Position Washington Islamic Academy seeks a candidate for Principal who is competent, organized, and willing to lead our school to excellence, insha Allah. The candidate should be an excellent manager, communicator, mentor, and instructional leader. We are looking for someone who can lead the students Islamically and academically. The candidate must possess strong public relations and networking skills. Duties and responsibilities - Responsible for the day-to-day running of the school.
- Communicate effectively with board of directors.
- Focus on academic achievement and curriculum direction.
- Model and scaffold instructional strategies for teachers.
- Manage staff, focus on professional development.
- Lead school marketing and enrollment efforts.
- Maintain regular communication with parents.
- Establish strong relationship with Fairfax County Schools.

- Certified teacher
- 3+ years teaching experience
- 3 years of experience as Principal/Asst. Principal
- Principal license (preferred)
