Homecoming 2026 Recap

Thank you to all the alums who joined us for our Homecoming 2026 celebrations from September 23 to 25. Nearly 150 alums returned to campus to reminisce, celebrate their WIC experiences and share in the excitement of Homecoming.

From signing the Class of 2026 yearbooks, to sharing memories at the alum reunion cocktail, to welcoming multigenerational families back to campus to explore our new Digital Voyageurs Generations Wall, it was wonderful to see so many members of our alum community enjoying time together at WIC.

We are grateful to each of you for making this Homecoming truly memorable, and we hope you enjoyed the opportunity to revisit campus! Take a moment to relive the highlights by browsing through the photos from each event: Yearbook Signing, Alum Reunion Cocktail, and Voyageurs Generations Gathering.

We want to hear from you!

Have you recently achieved a milestone, won an award, started a new business, added a new family member, or given back to your community? We’d love to hear about it! Your stories inspire us and strengthen our community. Please share your updates with us at alumni@wicmtl.ca.

WIC Updates

Welcome to WIC's New Students

As we kicked off the school year in late August, we were excited to greet 102 new students joining our community. Among them, 12 are legacy students, meaning that at least one of their parents is a proud WIC alum.

Educating multiple generations of Voyageurs is a true privilege, and we are deeply grateful when alums entrust us with their children's education. A heartfelt welcome to these new families!

From Voyageur to Educator

We’re delighted to welcome Sydney Bedirian ‘15 back to WIC this year as a member of our teaching staff. After graduating in 2015, Sydney is now returning to the school as an English teacher, bringing her experience and perspective to a new generation of Voyageurs.

Reflecting on her return to WIC, Sydney shared: “It feels incredible to be back at WIC! Stepping into the classroom as an educator after graduating from WIC is an absolute honor. The school still has the same warm, welcoming, and inclusive atmosphere I remember, and I can’t wait to teach, lead extracurriculars, and give back to this wonderful community.”

We’re so pleased to have Sydney back at WIC and look forward to seeing her take on this new role in our community!

A Look at Life After WIC

On September 25, our Secondary 5 students had the opportunity to look ahead to life after WIC with visits to Bishop’s University and the Université de Sherbrooke. Students toured both campuses, learned more about university life and heard directly from university students about their experiences.

These visits are a great example of the experiential learning opportunities WIC provides to help students explore their options, make informed decisions and envision what their future could look like beyond the classroom.

Our alum community can also play an important role in creating these experiences. If you’re currently attending a university or working at a university and would be interested in meeting with WIC students during a future visit, we’d love to hear from you!

Community Impact Report

We are excited to share West Island College’s 2025-2026 Community Impact Report, a comprehensive overview of how our school continues to grow and thrive thanks to the engagement and support of our community. Discover how philanthropy is making a difference in our students' lives and programs, and explore the opportunities to be part of this journey.
