What a YEAR!
Welcome to December, the last month of a groundbreaking and transformational year that changed lives around the World. Plagued with anxiety, lockdowns, elections, riots and so much more, this year was definitely one for the history books. It proved to be an overwhelming and unexpected change that ushered in a new way of life. The year was jam packed with lessons that helped us to learn how to create healthy boundaries, effectively heal, and gain back our courage, strength and a strong the will to achieve.
Looking back in history, the Black Plague marked an end of an era in Italy. Its impact was profound, resulting in wide-ranging social, economic, cultural, and religious changes. These changes, directly and indirectly, led to the emergence of the Renaissance, one of the greatest eras for art, architecture, and literature in human history.
Change brings in a new awareness, which provides us with a chance to shift our consciousness and explore new paths for our future. Through the transition of change, we awaken, elevate, and revolutionize a new way. When the pandemic hit, it brought change and the need for adaptability the new normal was paramount to our success in 2020. This pandemic afforded us as an opportunity to be disruptive, embrace new thinking, and find new ways of doing things.
The pandemic left many WICT chapters uncertain as to how they would be able to keep their members connected and engaged, which meant thinking outside of the box. Initially, we were uncertain as to how we would move forward, but together, we found ways to achieve and were awarded the Inspire Award for our 2020 accomplishments, which is an honor and a great achievement especially during challenging times.
What we experienced this year was not for the faint of heart. It required ambition, courage, resilience, integrity, grace and strength all amazing qualities of a HERO who has battled through the darkness revealing their inner light.
May you have a safe and joyful Holiday – looking forward to great things happening in the New Year!
All the best,
Jeannette Richardson
