WIG is celebrating the Women's Suffrage Centennial all year long!

This year marks the 100th anniversary of women gaining the right to vote thanks to Tennessee ratifying the 19th amendment on August 18, 1920. A re-enactment took place on August 18, 2020 in the Tennessee House Chamber. Click here to watch!

In honor of this celebration, WIG hosted a #WIGTwitterWatchParty for
The Vote PBS. Check out WIG's Twitter feed of this event by clicking here.

Women In Government Board of Directors
WIG congratulates two of our national Board of Directors who were appointed Delegates for their respective party conventions: WIG Chair Senator Stacy Guerin (R-ME) for the RNC convention and Southern Regional Director Senator Gloria Butler (D-GA) for the DNC convention. Follow WIG’s website and social media for updates on the Life of a Delegate in 2020 throughout August.

The 2020 conventions may go down as the most unique in history, given the pandemic’s impact on travel and engagement. While primarily virtual, the conventions remain showcases for current and emerging leaders. Women In Government is a nonpartisan organization that celebrates women political leadership.

Follow along with these delegates by checking out these WIG social media accounts!
