A Biweekly Update on WIL and its Partners

The GIFT of Language and Learning
for Peruvian Girls
Guest Speaker Theresa Ramos
Join us for a conversation with former Philadelphian, Theresa Ramos, on giving children the gift of reading with WIL's support.

Six years ago, Theresa Ramos moved to Carhuaz, Peru after years of working and living in Philadelphia. She partnered with Artesanos Don Bosco and began an intensive English language learning program for school children in the area. The group received two grants from WIL to assist in their language projects.

Join us for wine, light snacks and an informal conversation with Theresa.

Monday, March 28 5:00 - 6:30pm

WIL / WFN - A Collaboration Effort
WIL Partners with Women’s Funding Network (WFN) in 2022
womensfundingnetwork.org
Over the past few years, WIL has been investigating the possibility of partnering with different organizations that can help us expand our reach to empower underserved women. WIL has decided to partner with the Women's Funding Network (WFN) for the year 2022. WFN is a large organization with over 125 member organizations, all designed for the purpose of promoting women’s issues including advocacy for social & economic justice, equality, and respect for human rights. Most of these organizations work in various communities throughout the US, however, 19 of these organizations, including WIL, have a global reach, which includes Africa, Eastern Europe, Latin and South America, and Asia.
WFN sponsors meetings, funding, and advocacy for multiple women’s empowerment projects. They publish a weekly newsletter that provides up-to-date activities within their organization and the network. Some of these activities are open to WIL members. Registration for some activities are free but others have a fee. We are looking forward to partnering with WFN to learn whether they can help us identify programs, partners for funding (Micro Finance & Grants) and service. We will forward the WFN weekly newsletter to WIL membership for through the WIL listserv.
