November 2023

As the leaves continue to fall and the air grows crisper, we're excited to welcome November, a month that resonates with gratitude and reflection. In this edition of our newsletter, we have assembled an array of content, including helpful resources, the latest news, and upcoming events.

November is Diabetes Prevention Month

Diabetes Prevention Month is a time dedicated to raising awareness about the growing global epidemic of diabetes and empowering individuals with the knowledge and tools to reduce their risk. This month-long observance plays a crucial role in fostering a healthier society by focusing on preventive measures, lifestyle changes, and early intervention.

Diabetes is a chronic condition that affects millions of people worldwide and is a leading cause of serious health complications, including heart disease, stroke, kidney disease, and vision loss. The good news is that type 2 diabetes, the most common form, is largely preventable through lifestyle modifications. By taking steps to prevent diabetes, individuals can significantly reduce their risk of developing this condition

and enhance their overall quality of life.

The WILC and PILS teams will be sharing diabetes facts and tips throughout the month of November on our social media platforms and websites.
