The Westchester Independent Living Center’s Parent Training and Information Center (PTIC) is designed to provide training and information to parents of children with disabilities/special needs and increase youth with disabilities’ ability to become effective self-advocates. PTIC helps parents increase their confidence and develop the advocacy skills that will benefit their children through workshops/webinars and information/referral services. Separate trainings are offered for professionals who work with children and transition-age youth.
PTIC covers seven counties in the Hudson Valley: Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Rockland, Sullivan, Ulster, and Westchester.
