Additional Election Information

In a future eAlert, we will send you a link to the webpage where you can view the candidates’ application packets, including their applications, candidate statements, activist biographies and/or resumes, and the two letters of recommendation for each candidate. In that alert we will also provide dates of two proposed candidate forums in November, before Thanksgiving.

Please note: As has been the case for many years, the WILPF election procedure prohibits any member from using WILPF US listservs or email lists to campaign for themselves or for any candidate. In that way the candidates have more equal access to the membership to publicize their candidacy by means of their posted documents and the candidate forums. One candidate was disqualified for repeatedly violating this rule.

For your information, here are the names and offices of the current Board members who will be continuing in office after the January 25, 2025 Board meeting. Just so you can keep your scorecard up to date, these positions are not up for election this cycle: Barbara Nielsen, Treasurer; George Friday, Program Committee Chair #1; Cee’ Cee’ Anderson, Personnel Committee Chair; Tina Shelton, At-Large Bd Member #2.

In addition to the balloting for Board candidates, you’ll have the chance to vote on five Bylaws amendments. These too will be posted on the website.

Opening for Alternate to the WILPF International Advisory Board: Apply Now!

Finally, the Board is also seeking applicants for the position of WILPF US Alternate to the WILPF International Advisory Board. As announced in the eNews, this position is open, and the Board expects to make a decision at the November 23, 2024, Board meeting. The remaining term for this office is less than a year, providing a good opportunity to learn more about national and international work.
