A WISE Words production...

We are very excited to share with you our first animated video Hugs , in what we hope to be a series of WISE Words productions.

This spring we partnered with the Dali Lab at Dartmouth to create an animated application of one of our WISE Words prevention segments. It was an incredible experience working with Lauren Gray, D'20. She took one of our radio recordings and interpreted it into a beautiful array of colors.

We plan to share the video in the classroom and on social media as part of our intentional strategy to offer WISE prevention in a variety of ways. Enjoy!

Navigating the world online: Sexting & Nudes

Sexting is “sending sexually suggestive or explicit texts, photos, or video messages via computer or mobile devices,” or as young people call it, “sending nudes.”

Both teenagers and adults have been known to participate in sending and receiving naked pictures. Despite our own behavior, adult instincts are often to warn young people about all of the terrible potential consequences of sending naked pictures in hopes of discouraging them from participating.

The 13.1 mile run to end gender-based violence

On June 2, 2019, 38 people ran the Covered Bridges Half Marathon for Team WISE, and generated nearly $30,000 in donations!

Many of the participants were local and long-term friends of WISE. We also made new friends, including a couple who traveled from Anchorage AK to join our team! We are humbled, honored, and appreciative of the efforts of all involved – runners, donors, and volunteers.
