THURSDAY, JANUARY 9, 2020
  • As a reminder, after-school tutoring will not begin until the week of Jan. 20.  

Monday/Thursday, 3:30-5:30 in B8 (no transportation provided)

Tuesday, 3:30-4:30 in B4 (transportation available with admin approval)

  • Audition packets are available for the Woodland spring play Snow White. Packets are due back tomorrow, Fri., Jan. 10. Auditions will be held Mon.-Thurs., Jan. 13-16, 2020 after school at 3:30 p.m. Audition packets are available in the front office or at the link below. Students must also sign up for an audition time in the front office. The packet contains important audition materials, information, dates, expectations, and a permission slip.   • If your student competed in archery for Woodland or any middle school in this area and would like to compete this spring, have them stop by A-9 and let Mr. Ariola know by next Wednesday. We have a team to provide the opportunity for experienced archers to compete. We will begin preparing for competition at the beginning of next semester.
  • There will be a track parent meeting Mon., Jan. 13 at 6 p.m. in the Woodland cafeteria.
  • Congratulations to yearbook adviser Mr. Young and the 2019 Round-Up staff for being named a Pacemaker finalist by the National Scholastic Press Association (NSPA). This is the first time in publication history for the Round-Up to be a finalist. We are one of only 12 junior high/middle schools who made the list. The two biggest awards in scholastic journalism are the CSPA Crown and NSPA Pacemaker. The Round-Up 2019 is a finalist for BOTH of them!
  • UAMS Northwest and North AR Regional Medical Center offer the CHAMPS (Community Health Applied in Medical Public Service) summer program to students entering 8th-10th grades who are interested in the medical field. The program gives students an opportunity to experience various aspects of health care careers. The program is free, and applications are due May 15.   • There will be no school Mon., Jan. 20 for observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
Woodland Teachers Recognized at Fayetteville Board of Education Meeting

Two of our Woodland teachers were recognized at last month's Fayetteville Board of Education meeting.

Journalism teacher Andrew Young received a Recognition of Outstanding Achievement Award for achieving National Board Certification. 

ELS teacher Allison Dingler received an Above & Beyond Award from Truity Credit Union for her outstanding work. 




Thank you PTO

Thank you to our wonderful PTO! They outdid themselves again with an amazing holiday lunch for our staff before the winter break. Special thanks to Carolina Gomez and Miriam Smith for coordinating everything! It was a fantastic way to celebrate the end of a great semester.
