TUESDAY, APRIL 30, 2019
  • FHS Cross Country tryouts have been moved to 5 p.m., May 13 at Kessler Park. 

     
  • We have less than 50 yearbooks left to order. Make sure you have ordered your copy if you want one on distribution day on May 10. You can order one at yearbookforever.com 
  • Congratulations to Woodland students Keming Meng, Janet Fu, and Alan Chen for winning the Arkansas Council of Teachers of Mathematics (ACTM) state competition last Saturday. They qualified for the competition based on how well they did at the regional ACTM competition held at the U of A near the end of March. 
  • Woodland had 16 7th grade students score high enough on the Duke TIP for state recognition, and two of those were grand recognition winners. The state qualifiers will be invited to Little Rock May 8 for the state recognition ceremony at UALR, and grand winners will be invited to Duke University in South Carolina.
  • FHS Baseball tryouts will be held Wed., May 1 and Fri., May 3 at the FHS Baseball Field.
  • FHS Girls Soccer tryouts will be held Wed., May 1 at 5 p.m. at Harmon Field.
  • FHS Softball tryouts will be held Fri., May 3, from 5-7 p.m. and Sat., May 4, from 9-11 a.m. at the Softball Complex. It is not necessary to attend both days. A current physical will need to be turned in at the tryout in order to participate.
  • FHS Boys Soccer tryouts will be held Mon., May 6 and Tues., May 7 from 5-7 p.m. at Students should meet at the FHS stadium and bring a copy of their current physical to tryout.
No Parking at Neighboring Businesses

Parents and guardians, please do not park at neighboring businesses or drive through grassy areas or over curbs when dropping off or picking up students at Woodland.
Students vs Faculty Basketball Game

The students versus faculty basketball game will be next Fri., May 10 during the PTO Celebration. Blue Crew students are asking for $1 donations to the Arkansas Children's Hospital from each student. 

Please show your school spirit and help kids in our area. the money will be collected during advisory next week on Thursday and Friday.
PTO Cowboy Celebration
Our annual Cowboy Celebration is two short weeks away, and PTO needs something from everyone! Cowboy Celebration is a full day of activities, sports, games, food, puppies, music, celebrity guests, and tons of fun. Please take time to volunteer a couple hours and assist the staff in an activity, or if you are unable to attend, there are many items needed as well. Cowboy Celebration is Fri., May 10, with a rainout date of Fri., May 17. The event runs the entire day, ending with a staff versus student basketball game. Please consider helping make this day one the students won't forget! Contact Kelly Edmiaston at kedmiaston@att.net if you have any questions.

Free Tutoring Options

We have several free tutoring options available. Students can participate in free tutoring sessions Tuesdays from 3:30-4:30 p.m., and transportation home is provided if needed.

We also offer tutoring sessions Mondays and Thursdays 7:30-8:15 a.m. and 3:30-4:30 p.m.
As always, drinks and snacks will be provided at every session.
